The cooling system shouldn't be losing much coolant.

If you're putting in coolant regularly
If you're seeing slick oil in the coolant
If you're hearing noise in the engine while driving

You may have a crack in your engine block and your engine isn't being lubricated properly anymore. This will cause noise and leaks, make a motor run really rough and cause rough starting.

I suggest you bring your vehicle in for a coolant system pressure test and a chassis leak check. This should be a free service from any auto shop that wants your money for repairs.

Spark plugs usually degrade your performance slowly and don't make noise while doing it unless in extreme cases.

Good luck!

Spark plugs will probably not solve the starting problem and will definitely not solve the low coolant light. I recommend taking the vehicle to your local mechanic and having them diagnose the cause of the check engine light.

Hi Shane, I'm glad to help!

Shane, I'm not there to do a diagnosis but it sound like you may have a rocker arm that may have came off. You can pull the valve cover off the side where the noise is and see if that has happened. Not sure, but you need to start somewhere right. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Shane.

1998 chevy lumina will not start.

A mechanic would check for voltage at the starter, the neutral safety switch, and the key switch.
Have you cleaned the battery cables this year ?

Where the starter relay at in 95'chevy lumina

There may be a problem with your antitheft security system. This will turn off the starter and make it appear to not be functioning properly. Look for a light that says SECURITY when you try to start your car. If you see that light, go to this link for help.

My 98 Chevy Lumina has started to sputter in damp weather. Could it be the plugs and wires? Or the coil? If it's the coil, where is it located and is it easy for me to change? Thanks.

I would start with checking your plugs and plug wires. Check the wires for worn or burnt spots. You can take a little spray bottle and mist your plug wires. Then see if it starts to miss or you might hear it arcing which will be a snapping noise. I believe your car has a coil pack that all of your wires go to. I would start with the plugs and wires if they haven't been changed in a while.

1998 Chevy Lumina has check Engine light on and code says egr valve which has been replaced now what

Check engine lights sometimes do not go off right away. To reset the check engine light, disconnect your battery, turn the lights on, on your car ( to drain any power left in the computer systems), reconnect the battery and the light should be off. If it comes back on, the EGR valve was not installed properly.
