Question about 2000 Chrysler Town & Country
You could also have a bad speed sensor. It has two located on the front right of the engine and transmission (looking from the front of the car).

It sounds like you are either low on transmission fluid, or you have a shift solenoid or TCC Solenoid that is failing. Check the transmission fluid level when the engine is warmed up. If the fluid is at the correct level, see if your check engine light is on. If the CEL light is on, you probably have a failed Solenoid Valve. Have the code checked to find out which solenoid is faulty.
