You do realize, that for some 30 years now, that the
on board computers do all the tuning

So a tune-up went the way of a horse & buggy

You got spark plugs & nothing else really would
be related to the tuning of 3 decades ago

Also the MIL Lamps or Check Lamps have been on
all vehicle for 30 years.

So lets educate yourself
Anytime you get ANY light on your dash, you
start the same process over.

You first check for codes, always, for the last 30 years

You may or may not have had the misfire fixed
You have a Ford Product.
Not everyone likes working on them or is good at
misfires, especially with COP Coils. (Individual Coils)

You could have any one of a dozen things go wrong on
10 different vehicle systems

There are over 800 OBD Codes on most vehicles

If you give us the codes, once you get them, someone will
try to guess at what your asking.

You still need to go back to a repair shop & get more
involved in the process of explaining your cars issues
& make sure you know what your paying for

You must road test the car before you leave it & before
you pay for it,with the mechanic & you in the car

If you you don't the shop will pick & chose to do whatever
they feel like.

You want your driveablitiy issues resolved period,NOTHING
ELSE

After 30 to 1 hours of driving. I get a misfire in all cylinders and runs ruff. I tuned up about 2.5 months ago no problems. But does seem to burn more gas than usual.

What was done for the tune up? Do you get a "check engine" light? Got your codes read?
Make/model/year of your car may help, too.

Check engine light came on last week. They said it was the heated oxygen sensor. I had it replaced and today the light is on again. The code at Auto Zone is P2096 and P0300. It says P0300/P0301/P0302...

Yes a misfire could cause a false 02 code. As far as why it's misfiring could be a plug and wire issue but hard to say without looking at it

My Toyota Avalon 02 is experiencing problems with check engine light flashing when idling at a light and then goes solid when driving. The codes read p0300 Thru p0303. The car idles very rough and shakes...

code p 300 is random misfires
code p 0301,-2,-3,-4,-5,-6,-7,-8 all refer to the cylinder that is misfiring ie p 0303 is no 3cyl misfiring
many people mistakenly believe that a misfire is from the plug, wires distributor when in fact it is more likely to be a problem injector ---dirty tip , low fuel; pressure , blocked tip, injector wiring
using gas conditioner sometimes works but in many cases it dislodges gunk that blocks the tip
At this point I would get a fuel pressure test done to check the pressure regulator , pump and filter condition as everything you describe points to fuel and injectors
AS a point of interest- with ECM controlled engines, the ECM tunes up the engine 60 times a minute to keep it within parameters and the plugs will last the life of the engine
when you want to do a tune up , simply have the fault codes read and fix only what comes up

If there is a check engine light on, it will tell you which Ignition coil is bad, or you may need a tune up depending when last you had one done.

My check engine light came on the day after I had my car smog checked. My Tech noted error codes po136, po174, po303 and po305, It's a 2002 Highlander with only13,660 miles on it. Toyota had it for a...

the po303 and p0305 codes are indicating a cylinder 3 & 5 MISFIRE respectively. the other codes are for o2 sensor and fuel trim. the misfire codes should be fixed first and then worry about the others if they still exist. if the vehicle has direct ignition or coil on plug, this is a good place to start, the ignition coils for those cylinders. a scanner with a misfire monitor would really help to narrow done the problem and as always a tune-up never hurts if it hasn't been done for some time or plugs, air filter, etc, show signs of deterioration. the misfire codes if left untreated will release raw hydrocarbon emissions into the environment not to mention the damage it could cause to your catalytic converter due to overheating. also your gas mileage will suffer. hope this will help yoy

make sure the gas cap is on tight. vapor recovery system depends on the closure of the gas cap. if that did not solve your problem, I would suggest to get a new gas cap first, before going to the dealer or any repair shop for a turn-up.

97 Honda Civic shakes at start and check eng light comes on.

It looks like misfiring in one cylinder. That is why check engine come on. Misfiring can be due to spark plugs/wiring/worn distributor cap. Maybe also vaccum leak and clogged injectors (use injector cleaner).
You can read the trouble codes at Autozone store for free
Please kindly let me know if this infor was usefull for you or you need more infro
Good Luck

Check the EGR valve. Replacing the EGR valve fixed my error code for misfiring. I also had to remove the battery cable for 5 minutes to turn off the check engine light.
