Question about 2005 Honda Odyssey

3 Answers

I get a code P0741 for 05 Odyssey EXL (96k miles). Is it safe to drive with this code? Doesn't seem like it's driving any different. Thought was the gas cap when C.E.L came on, but had run on computer and this code came up. Economy mode light not coming on was my only other indication it wasn't a gas cap problem.

The error is means there is an issue with the torque converter on the transmission. It may be stuck. It is safe to drive it but there may be issues with the milage.

You should call the Honda Dealer right away about this problem now !! one guy on another web site said this :

I hate to revive an old thread, but I ran into the same problem today. Code P0741, Torque Converter CKT performance or stuck off. I have an appointment to take it in to Honda next week and am wondering what to expect

2003 honda odyssey v6 exl, I want to know what are the signs of a bad torque convertor, and how to tell if a sensor is the problem

a bad torque converter will not drive or will rattle from the loose blades internally
The blades can fold over during violent operation but it is unusual
most no drive situations can be found to be a result of torque converter clutch servo/ solenoid failures or wiring problems
if you have the fault codes read there should be a code to that effect

VSA and check maintenance light, vehicle doesn't go more than 20miles

Car maintenance lights do not go on after a certain mileage but rather for problems which the car sensors can detect such as bad oil that needs to be changed.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2007 honda odyssey exl 30k emission system service. what is honda service adviser talking about. just past inspection

If you look at Honda's maintenance schedule they say that this is something that you should do. But if you just passed smog and the amount of miles on the vehicle I would not do it at all. Its basically a way for the dealership to get more money from you.

This is to make sure that all your emission systems is up to par no leaks, and everything is working correctly. If you where having emission issues you would be having a check engine light come on. I honestly again would not worry about it.

My 2005 Honda odyssey with 96k miles whines when in drive and under load. When coasting the noise goes away. It is not there in neutral. The noise increases in pitch with speed

Sounds like differential or differential bearings as it happens under load,if it was just wheel bearings it would do it rolling down a hill even with the engine switched off, it needs to be driven by an experienced mechanic to diagnose the noise but thats probably it

2002 Honda Odyssey TCS light comes on after driving approx 1 mile

There are several things that will turn the check engine light and TCS light on .If you get the code I can tell you exactly what the problem is . On your year i see transmission problems as well as EGR problems. If you go to any large auto parts store they will check the code for free or a very small fee.
