Question about Ford Ranger

Horn on my Ford Ranger keeps honking when vehicle is turned off.

I have the same problem on my 1997 Ford Escort. My son used the car to push a pickup. After replacing the dead battery, the horn wouldn't go off unless I unhooked the harness going to the Cruise Control Servo. I unplugged the horn fuse and hooked the Cruise Servo back up and the cruise still operates. The question is, "do they share the same hot wire?" Are the airbags tied into the horns somehow?

The steering wheel needs to pulled off, there is a short somewhere in there. Better have it done, cause if it isn't done right, the air bag can deploy.

SOURCE: Can I stop my horn from sounding when I lock my 2009 Accord

You might can have the dealer program it not to honk, but its just the way the keyless entry works. I've owned 2 accords--an 06 and 08--and both of them honk the horn when the lock button is pressed twice. Pressing the button once will secure the car and arm the alarm. So once click is all you really need. And no your alarm is not malfunctioning.

You can remove the horn relay and use a Ohm meter and check the resistance between the horn relay connector terminal No. 86 (Black Wire) and ground. If the ohms are less then 5 ohms replace the horn relay. There are a lot more tests but as Polarcycle states you can do what he suggested other then I believe you have two horns in this vehicle.

Most times it is the spring and assembly in the steering wheel that is bad.

First use a battery charger to charge the battery, instead of a jump start. Second, with a complete dead battery you may want to pull the connection for the horn under the hood till the battery is completely charged.

I believe there are 2 wires to the horn. One is power all the time, and the other is ground through the steering column wire to the horn button on the steering wheel, when it grounds out when pushed.
If it is a single wire to the horn, then there is a relay.

Horn wont stop

sounds like the horn contact terminal inside the steering wheel got disconnected and is hitting a metal part of the steering column which triggers the horn. the terminal that got disconnected is probably has positive polarity and the metal part of the steering column has negative polarity. If they come in contact with each other... *honk* *honk*
