1986 Lincoln TownCar wiper blades stop in up position as in 12 o'clock. Would that be wiper motor or fuse? If motor, where can I find instructions for replacement?

Were it a fuse, it would not move at all. you can find repair manuals on eBay, public library technical collections also carry manuals but no one goes there anymore. you could also do a search on youtube there are thousands of vehicle repair videos there. the replacement process would be the same on the big fords and mercurys of the late 80s. this is most likely not an owner service item, depends on your level of mechanical aptitude and tool collection.

Wipers won't go home

Did the wipers stop in the up position? If so it may be a blown fuse or a defective wiper motor. Have you looked at the fuse-box? Did you mean that the wipers swipe the windshield correctly and then when the wipers shut off they stop in the wrong position. If this applies then inspect the wiper transmission. There could be worn/loose linkage between the wiper motor and the wiper arms. Also if the wiper motor was just installed. The clock position may be wrong. Please let me know if this information helps. If not please write back, leave more details, and I'll do my best, good luck.

Front Wipers - not working

If you can move the wiper blades by hand, you probably broke-stripped the gear in the wiper motor.

Wipers stopped working 1992 towncar

Hi
Did you replace the wiper motor switch with a new or second hand on as I see this a lot & 95% of the time it is the switch it may need cleaned or you may have a dead wire that power the switch
