Most of the time this is a system reset of the instruments. I drive a Sterling tractor (made by Ford) that does the same thing. It just happens when the computer restarts and resets all the instruments I think to insure the gauges are not sticking (last part was just a guess).

The fuel gauge isn't affected by the pump. Maybe there's some varnish on the sending unit and when it's really cold it just kinda sticks, then when it warms up it will move again

How to reset speedometer on 2004 dodge stratus

If your speedometer has flipped completely over, (needle on backside of pin on gauge) then it should be a simple fix. First, press and hold down odometer reset button (on right side of instrument cluster). With key in ignition, click key forward (but don't start vehicle). This will put gauges in self test mode. This should throw needle back in correct position after test mode is complete. You can also look up gauge reset videos on Youtube. Good luck.

How do i reset my theft system if the the factory radio is removed my 98 malibu

You should be able to reset it without the radio. Turn your key forward 2 clicks until right before the car would normally start, leave like this for ten minutes. (No less than ten. Eleven is safe) Turn the key back to the "off" position for 5 seconds and repeat the whole process 2 more times.

So that's forward 10 minutes, back for 5 seconds. Forward 10, back 5. And the final forward 10, back 5. Try to start vehicle.

This is a complete GM Passlock relearn. Should take about 30 minutes. If that doesn't work, you may have something broken. Normally, the passlock doesn't get triggered for no reason. So worst case scenario, you can always bypass the entire system. Here is a great link with a ton of info on Passlock and how to get around it

2000 caravan 3.0 stall after 20 min no spark restarts few hours later

This sounds like a bad (probably cracked) ignition coil.

First, the coil gets hot when operating, and this is normal.

If it is cracked, it gets hot to the point where its resistance gets so much higher that it cannot provide enough voltage for spark.

When it cools back down it starts working fine again.
