Question about 2004 Chevrolet Aveo

1 Answer

The check engine light came on. The oil was changed a few weeks ago and is at the proper level. The car is not running hot and is preforming as it always has. Could this be the air filter causing this light to come on?

Have the vehicle properly diagnosed... it could very well be the oil pump - don't risk burning up the engine by oil starvation... get someone to check the oil pressure.

Oil mixed with water in coolant

Head gasket would be your only problem, the oil cooler normally is cooled by air and not water.

Light comes on saying low oil level, stop safely and stop engine. Had oil changed two weeks ago.

If you did not do the oil change it is possible A) the plug was not tight, B) the filter was not tight, or C) the correct amount of oil was not installed.
Check oil level.

Hi:
The first thing to do, of course is to check your oil? Even though you had an oil change two weeks ago, you could have a bad gasket on your new oil filter, or there could have been a oil plug problem, or it could be just a sensor failure. If your oil is really low, you need to take it some where to find the leak. IF the oil level is ok, then you need to troubleshoot the sensor .

Check gauge light problem

Change the engine oil or top it up to the specified level if the oil is still good and not burnt. After such conditions if the engine oil level is low, it would be advisable to change it completely. Also check if water pump is able to circulate the water properly(see on removing the radiator cap while the engine is running). Clean all plugs as added safety and try...sodeep

Oil light flashing, last oil change 7 wks ago

I belive they didn't reset the oil light timer. I belive the sequence is 1. key on (not acc with engine off)
2. step on the brake pedal 5 times within 10 seconds. 3. key off. 4. start car. 5. check if the light went out. you may have to try it a few times to get it.
