You can buy a 30 dollar code reader at a parts store, or you can take it to a parts store such as advance or autozone and they will put theirs on your car for free. then you will have the codes.
note the guys working there were selling pizza last week and delivering papers a week before that.
some experience as a mechanic is helpful once you know the codes.
