My son has a 2002 Civic DX. The DRL warning light is turned on in the dashboard. The left highbeam is not working. We changed the bulbs with no success. The daytime running lights are not working. All other lights are working OK. Can this be related to the DRL relay or module?

DRL, are you in Canada?
Daytime, running lights.
did you pull the module to see the very common burned up pins?
plastic all ugly and burnt?
DRL module is just LOGIC.
it has inputs that must be good for it to work.
one hand brake, it must be off
the other is on many cars, Alternator not bad, it cuts DRL
so the battery charge is saved so you can drive with EFI not going dead so soon. (ECU/PCM needs DC power to run engine)
the fsm covers this
as does alldata.com
use the schematic of DRL to see what pins need what logic state to work. if confused ask questions.
if replacing the high beam bulbs do not fix the DRL issue ,see my tip under 2001 to 2005 civic daytime module repair. The accord you have has the same module.
The DRL stands for daytime running lights. There is an electronic module that controls the operation of this that is located under the dash, which is probably where your noise is coming from. The noise goes away when you turn your headlights on because the DRL will disengage. I have replaced these before on civics and it should cure your problem. When ordering your part ask for a "daytime running light module". Hope this helps.
High beams dont go on at all? Does the DRL light dissapear when u turn on the headlights? Now, because your high beams dont work, it more likely means that you need to replace your bulbs. Because if it would be a problem in the car itself, only the DRL system would fail. Im 80% sure that changing your bulbs will solve the problem.
Firstly, Check the circuit carefully see weather there is any coating broken , disconnected ,connection wiring covered by the plasters or not and connected in the right line or not
