I Owned a Jeep 2.8 Turbo Diesel ( CRD) 2006 model, manuel. ( South African make.) (USA= Liberty) I replaced the battery and drove the verchile for 2 days. Yesterday I started the Jeep, it idles for about 1 minute and cut out. Try to restart but without sucess. I replaced the new battery with another new battery (2), without sucess. I checked the the fuses and one fuse in the fuse box next to the battery are very noisy ( Fuse - ASD ) I replaced the fuse but the noise remain. All other fuses are fine. My husband and I have had problems like this with our liberty. It was not started since May 9, 2011. We now have it at a local dearlership. They believe that the problems started from shorts in the wireing harness. We have also had to have the ECM replaced, a factory battery, and they are working on getting some type of fuel sensor. They have engineers working with the dealership on all the repairs so that they can get this figured out. We have a case manager with Chrysler that is working with us on all the repairs. I have also heard that there are several of these around the nation that they cant fix. I know its not really helpful but if its still a problem you should really look into it. Good Luck.

VM Motori/Detroit Diesel

here is my wiki paste, so again, where are you.....
the crd was tried back in 80s but is not same engine, then.,

Numerous versions were available in markets outside the U.S. and Canada.
Early-2002 through mid-2003 model year CRDs were equipped with a 2.5lt VM Motori Diesel producing 105 kW (143 PS; 141 hp) and 343 N·m (253 lb·ft). An external wastegated turbo was standard and the engine was available only with a manual transmission.

and
the last North American market Jeep product that was offered witht this diesel engine was the 1987 Jeep Cherokee and Comanche.

next time post country and get 100x better answers
and faster and most important accurate.
best question would be.....????

Hello, same as Matt, first my horn didn't work,is it unplugged, then I plug the horn, does not function .unlocks remotely and then the alarm begins to function!unplug quickly..I am French.THANK YOU

posting to USA Forum with a French car.
ok, its a CRD diesel, common rail diesel. we have no books on it here, nor car. my guess near same car as our Liberty
does car drive ok? engine run ok, and all things on car work ok but your listed items?
So the alarm is failing.
So the doors unlock ok, with the key fob, but then the alarm goes off. Id say, it needs help. get car serviced, or at least scanned.
if both key fobs fail, (do you have both, if no OOPS) get it serviced.
so does engine start and run, after unplugging horn.
does it?
if not does it crank over,(start spin over engine>?"
if no , then battery is dead.

Where is the fuel filter to a 2006 jeep liberty 6.7l v6? I can't even find where to buy one, but I figured, if im going to drop the tank to replace the pump, I might as well deal with that too.

The engine size is 3.7 but to answer your question, Chrysler products quit using external fuel filters many years ago. The last filter for Jeep was probably in 1998.
There is a sock filter before the pump, but that is a dealer part.

Fuel cutoff

what makes you think that.
or what tests , prove that.
btw, if the PCM thinks (by any means) that SPARK is bad, it will in fact cut all fuel. (no crash and burn like on TV @!)
so spark is first. not fuel.

see why? and the engine cant use fuel if spark is dead.so 2 reasons.
this is a jeep Grand Cherokee, commander,
and what engine, they have many.
always post engine then ask questions.
no body does, but do. please.
