1996 Ford Explorer driver's window won't roll up

if it was running slow then yes i would say the motor died. to replace you have to take the door panel off not too hard of a job if you have some mechanical abilties. i would look online for the part you can usually get it a lot cheaper than local auto stores

Where is the window motor located in my 1996 explorer ? It must need replaced because when I push up or down it just clicks.

Inside the door panel mounted to the door inner sheetmetal. Make sure the "gear" is not stripped or lost teeth/backed off from the window retaining mechanism.

You will see this when you get to the motor behind the door panel...

Windows in 1993 Explorer, motor runs but windows don't go up or D

The gears in the motors are stripped. You will need gear kits that you can purchase at a local auto parts store. Good luck.
