Question about 2005 Toyota Tacoma

2005 Toyota Tacoma

I have a 2005 Toyota Tacoma. Of course the warranty expired 2 weeks and now I have an issue. When making right turns, there is grinding noise coming from the front drivers side wheel. I don't hear the noise when turning left. Any ideas what that may be, and what it will cost to fix?

Without looking at it, you may have one or more of the following:

Rust on the inside edge of the rotor (most common)

Worn front brake pads

Front wheel bearing problem.

Backing plate (behind rotor) rubbing the rotor

These are the most common causes, you can see 1,2 & 4 with the wheel off.

Hope this helps.

Explain further about "popping the clutch"
Do you mean you had the key on and it still wouldn't start when you tried to push-start it?

Grinding noise taking slow lefthand turn.

Most likely cause is a bad wheel bearing. Possibly a bad rotor, especially if you haven't serviced the brakes in a good while.
If it's the wheel bearing, have both sides checked. It's a good time to replace both sides.
Good luck.

Grinding noise in front wheel

Most likely bad wheel bearing. If you have ABS then you may need to get the bearing assembly that has the ABS ring on it if it comes as an assembly.

Grinding sound

It could be a wheel bearing or possibly the differential (4x4's). Check your brakes any way for safety's sake.

Grinding sound in the front end

I had this problem in my 2005 F-150 twice! The first time was covered under the warranty and the second time was out of my pocket! ( close to $500.00!) There is a solodoid u[pp on the firewall that gets water into it then it corrodes the lines and such. Ford dealership replaced 2 valve assemblies, 2 actuator assemblies, and the IWE Solonoid to fix mine. They claim the problem will not come back but that remains to be seen.
