Throttle position sensor, egr valve, coolant temp sensor, but really unless you are having a problem with the PCM it would show a code if any of those were out.

possibly a weak fuel pump? you would want to find out the operating pressure for your vehicle and either test it or have it tested if you are nervous around the fuel system

the fuel filter you changed, was it inline or in the tank? most of todays vehicles will have a filter mounted on the fuel pump inside the tank, some have both in-tank and inline.

just a few thoughts,
hope this helps!

the fuel filter I changed was inline next to the tank. thinking of cheching fuel pressure myself even though the DLR. said it was good. how would I know if I have a pcm problem?

I want to suggest doing this as the platinum spark plugs do cause a multiple cylinder misfire error code(p0300) . You cleared out the O2 error and wrong type plugs can cause O2 sensors to go out. Now this is just a suggestion. Try not to panic as this can be a simple fix. Some breakdowns occur after engine is at full operating temperature and it can be wires but it is definitely an ignition problem. Let me know if this works or if you did get it fixed and thanks for using FixYa.

2001 honda odyssey has a p1399 code changed spark plugs and checked coils but still has a rough idle maybe egr valve or ports blocked with carbon

code p 1399 refers to random misfire ===causes --fuel /ignition--MAP sensor---IAC valve ( idle air control valve )
misfires are more from faulty injectors and low fuel pressure than from electronic problems
unless you have been burning lots of oil , the ports will be clean so have the injectors serviced

Just replaced MAF sensor with full tune up, but now idles rough..

replace the IAC, idle air control valve at throttle body. replace fuel fiter, put drygas in tank, todays fuel w/ethenol is bad news for older vehicles.

Have you checked the cam sensor? Also does that vehicle have a "throttle position sensor"? Some cars use both MAP and MAF sensors, not sure about your particular vehicle but if it is one of those, cleaning the MAF wouldn't hurt. Good luck.

Rough idle surging. have replaced plugs, fuel filter, injector o rings top and bottom and have run one bottle of injector cleaner. suspect IACV, fuel pump or maybe fuel regulator. please advise. thanks...

the best thing to do is to have a scan preformed on the engine, sounds like a mass air flow, but these parts are to costly to guess at. if the car will run ok at highway speeds of 60 mph or faster your fuel pump is ok.

I have a 1999 Saturn 4 cyl. The engine idles around 1200rpm. Even during normal driving the engine still idles high even after warm up. Sometimes the engine won't start after it has sat for 15 minutes or...

leaking o-rings at the fuel injectors would explain the hard starting when warm-when you hold the petal to the floor, it shuts off the injectors, which will make it possible to start it after the injectors leak down on shutdown. O-rings are easy to replace, just disconnect the battery and pull the injectors straight up to remove, get the old rings out and install the new ones, light lubricate the base of the injectors and pop them back in.

that might explain the high idle too, although usually the idle is not consistent when the injectors are leaking at idle-idle is rough. I would make sure the engine coolant temperature sensor is new (they are very important on saturn, the original one is plastic and they are known to crack easily-the replacement should be brass)-also, check the Idle air controller, best to remove the throttle body (4 bolts) and remove the IAC and clean it thoroughly, being careful not to get the top half wet-sensitive electronics. Clean the post that the IAC goes into, and clean the throttle body (both sides) while you have it out.

1996 f250 7.3 powerstroke has rough idle on starts

it sounds like to that it is either worn/ old injectors, dirtly HPOP (high pressure oil pump) oil worn HPOP pump or dirty fuel filters or fuel. you can take truck to a qualified diesel shop and they can do a buzz test on your injectors and see if they need to be replaced with a buzz test the tester will buzz all eight injectors with engine off and you can hear the buzz of the injectors then it will go through and buzz each injectors individually in firing order to der determin witch ones are bad. the bad injectors will be alot quieter than the other and most testing equipent will show what they are running at. hope this helps.

1999 Ford Taurus mechanical problem

Hello,
your problem appears to be the idle control motor located on the air intake manifold it is a small motor that goes bad quite often. Other items that can cause this is a bad /clogged air filter or a tune up (spark plugs and wires), or clogged fuel injectors. to clean the injectors you can buy a container of fuel system cleaner and pour it into the gas tank and as you drive it cleans the system.

Once the fuel system is cleaned via a tankful of cleaner & gas then the idle controller motor would be next on the list to be replaced.

Good Luck !
