SOURCE: Programming a used 2005 Range Rover key FOB

Unfortunately I believe that will require a trip to the dealer, and a hefty price tag to go with it. Most dealers refuse to let anyone else handle their security systems. And most keys have the alarm keypad built in making it even more dealer specific. I wish I could give better news.

SOURCE: reprogram key fob

Here is a quick HowTo on programming your own keyless entry:

1) Turn ignition to OFF.
2) Locate the Data Link Connector, its a black 16 pin connecter that is under the driver's side dash, right where your right knee would be. You have to look up into the dash from below to see it.
3) Ground pin 1 of the Data Link Connector by taking a wire or paper clip and running it from pin 1 to pin 4. Pin 4 is ground so you can just short pin 1 to 4 and it will be grounded. Grounding pin 1 tells the system you are ready to reprogram it.
4) Close all of your doors.
5) Turn the key to ACC then back off. The power door locks will lock/unlock. This is the signal that the system is ready for reprogramming.
6) Push a button on your key fob, doesn't matter which button.
7) If you have 2 key fobs, then press a button on the 2nd fob within 1 minute of pressing a button on the 1st fob. Both must be programmed at the same time. If you only have 1 fob then press a button 2 more times to signal that you only have one.
8) The doors will lock/unlock to signal the codes were received.
9) Remove the jumper wire from the data connector.
10) your done

My key fob doesn't work on my 2008 Lincoln MKZ. I replaced the battery and reprogrammed the fob nut still won't lock or unlock doors or open trunk

I see what you said and I am assuming you went through the programming sequence in the owners manual if so the battery inside the key fob is loose and you must move out the contacts so the remote goes together tight and the battery contacts stay in contact with the side and the flat part of the battery and that the + is facing the right way

When you replace the batteries in a key fob you usually have to reprogram (kind of a sync) the fob to the car. Each manufacturer is different and usually involves turning the key over a certain number of times ( like 8) then operating the fob in a certain way like holding the lock button down for three or so seconds. I found out how to do mine on YouTube

Key won't turn on 2008 dodge sprinter

Check for a blown fuse. If no fuse then you'll have to have a diag computer to go much further. I know from experiance if its not a blow fuse then next its the computer. There has been many issue where the key isn't recognized and the computer needs to go to Germany to be reprogramed. You'll need to talk to your local Sprinter shop if its not a fuse.

When I put my key in the ignition of my 2008 dodge grand caravan, it reads badkey & wont start. what is the problem?

Newer Dodge Vehicles do not have an ignition for a "metal" key. They use the Electronic Key called a FOB with a built in or integrated metal key that is only used to unlock the door. The FOB inserts into a WIN module (Wireless Ignition Module) instead of the normal igition. Reprogramming the vehicle usually does the trick however there has been significant problems with the WIN module and the dealer may have to replace it. The 2010's have a recall on some models. The manual states the keys cannot be reprogrammed. The first and easiest solution might be to try replacing the battery in the FOB (aka key),

I LOST THE KEY OF MY SPRINTER, NOW I MAKE A NEW KEY BUT ITS WONT START PLEAE GUIDE ME

hi, the problem your having is going to be with the imobiliser the key that you lost was programed to your van so that when you put the key in to start it then this would turn the imobilise off.

Now as you have got a new key you need to take it to your nearest main dealers with your owners documents and ask them to reprogramme the key for you. The problem you might have is unless you bought the key off them they might ask lots of questions so make sure you take id and owners documents with you.

Now if the key you have replaced with isnt one that can programme to turn off the imobiliser then the chances are you will need to purchase the correct key fob off your nearest main dealer.

Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok
