2005 f150 4.6 Triton v8 tramission slipping but wiil shift normal after 35mph. then all gears become reverse when fluid gets hot. whats a frag,?

In Viet-Nam frag was a fragment of an explosive. In your transmission it means a piece or small bits of pieces of either automatic clutch material or brass from the hub or any number of items that have started to come apart and plug up ports and filer in your trans. Strong chance your due for a tear-down if that is the case.

Rear end on f-350 makes roaring noise. I checked oil level and it was ok. The oil seems to be very thin. Could wrong oil cause rear end noise?

Differential roaring noise is usually caused by a bearing that is worn or has pitting in the bearing race (half of bearing without rollers). A whining noise would be caused by worn ring and pinion gears. the roaring could be from the carrier bearings (two bearings holding the differential case to the axle housing) or fron the pinion bearings. The fluid is typically heavier but will seem thin when hot. The fluid isn't the causing of the noise but if the wrong fluid is in the differntial it could have caused the bearing to go bad which then causes the noise. good luck.

There is a serious howl in the front end,i have tryed to go to 4hi and nothing happens,is this a front tramission problem or a bearing.

let's see, firing up my long distance vision..........its...its...darn blocked by a piece of lead. J/K. What you can do is jack up your truck on four jack stands, make sure NOTHING is touching the ground. start it up, put it in gear, and get out and look for the noise location. if noise near front wheels, its bearings, if near middle of front axle, its gears.., if near or under seats, its trans.

Tramission oil leak

Please contact a auto mechanic in your area for an estimate on this repair. In my area, this repair would be in the vicinity of $1200.00 but that is probably low.
