Try checking the wires on the side of the transmission and making sure they are all the way connected and check the wires to make sure there are no bare spots where is wire is showing...it could possibly be shorting out

Why does my speedometer not work on my 91 honda accord lx

The sensor on the side if the transmission may have gone out. Its a simple fix. Twist out and twist in. Usually located near the top half of the transmission toward the back.

91 sonoma wont turn over just wines

A whinning noise is usually from the starter spinning but not engaging with the flywheel.
The solenoid or bendix gear may not be working which would require a replacement starter.
If you heard a grinding noise, I would say some teeth are missing from the flywheel.

91 speedometer and miles

I have a 91 Accord. When I purchased it, the speedometer did not work. I replaced the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) and the speedometer started working again. I paid $24 for the sensor on ebay. The local part stores wanted $150. It's an easy fix. It takes about 20 minutes to replace.
