Question about 1999 Ford Explorer
Superiormind, What you need to do is lubricate the latch that holds the hood down. Look on the left side of the latch and you will see where the cable attaches. Lubricate this area while you have someone pull and push the cable from inside the vehicle as the cable will sometimes seize up. You may have to move the cable from the outside as well. Once this is done you should have no problem closing and locking the hood. Good luck with this.
