Question about 1998 Audi Cabriolet

1 Answer

My power antenna on my 1998 Cabriolet has stopped working. It was fixed once before. I was told that the motor that drives the antenna has twisted form the correct position. I tried to look at this myself but I can;t see where the motor is located. How do I figure out what the problem is? Is there a diagram I can look at that would show me where this motor is located?

The motor is located under the antenna stick.

Access it from the trunk interior. Remove the rear left side carpet inside the trunk.

Does anyone know how to replace the antenna on an audi cabriolet 2000. Just the antenna, not the full aerial. Thanks

When that old antenna has given up the ghost, a car audio retailer can sell and install a new one. If you're game, however, follow the steps below to do it yourself. Autocome cdp pro

My 1998 buick lasabre has no air coming out any of the vents. could it be a blower motor or fuse and where are they located dont have owners manual

the blower motor is under the passenger side of the dash. Once you locate it (you will need to remove the trim pannel under the dash) turn on the heater and turn the blower to high speed, then wack the bottom of the blower motor with a screwdriver handle or tap with a hammer. If it starts to work replace it.

You can also grab the connector and twist/pull. If the blower starts to work but you can hear is slow or stop by twisting/pulling the connector than replace the blower motor.

Here's some more info for you

If you have any other questions let me know, I'll do my best to answer them.

Power antenna motor will not shut off

I assume that the power antenna unit is an original equipment unit, if so.
1. Does it run for about a minute then stop? If this is the case, your antenna shaft needs to be replaced. This is a very simple procedure that your local radio install shop can do for you in about 20 minutes.
2. If the motor never shuts off as long as the key is on, you probably have a defective relay on the antenna motor. At this point you need to replace the entire unit. A job that can be a bit pricey because of the price of the unit itself. A cheeper fix is to replace the power antenna with a manually telescopic unit, (no motor), or a fixed unit, (doesn't go down). If you opt for the latter, remember to unscrew or lower the antenna in automatic car washes!

Power antenna slippage...

This is not a screw correcting problem. The antenna rod is connected to the motor by a rubber-like chain pully. The more you use the more it weakens which means it is designed to spoil.

You have to change it (the antenna). It would not cost much because its about $10 in my country Nigerria.

Replace antenna on 2003 mr2 spyder

my antenna just stopped working in my MR2 2003 Spider. The motor still runs but the antenna will not go up and down. It made a weird noise and I had to pull the top of the antenna up to stop the motor from sounding loud.

Should I replace this or can you disconnect it and push the antenna up and down?

Power Antenna does not work

The antenna is run up and down by a geared nylon cable, your is broken, many times the cable can be replaced, which is much cheaper than the antenna assy. Check with the local dealer for the cable kit, but unless you are really mech. inclined I would either let the dealer do the job, or a good local mechanic you trust.
