95 buick lesabre quits running when put into gear

could be a couple of things because when u put a car in gear the idle goes down so check see if it dies while ur sligthly on the gas to keep it running but be carefull.if the car dies anyway then u could have a jammed or locked up torque converter and if so the only way to know for sure is to unbolt the flywheel from the converter and giving it a try

1999 buick lesabre engine surges a d sometimes dies when accelarating only when in gear not while idling in park

Hello,
The problem you are experiencing with your car is as a result of a bad fuel pump or a clogged fuel filter, the fuel pump supplies fuel to the engine, but there is an epileptic power failure in the fuel pump when the car accelerates at times, hence there is no sufficient fuel supply during acceleration therefore the car engine dies at times when accelerating.
The solution is to replace the fuel pump/clean out or replace the fuel filter of your buick.

Have a nice day!!

Sounds like a vacuum leak. Check to see that all the little vacuum hoses (and one big one to the brake booster) are attached and not cracked. Hope that works.

Dies at idle in gear

idle air control valve Check idle air control valve on throttle body. Mine had similer problems. A quick fix to get you going should be just unplug and remove spray w/ cleaner to get carbon off spring and cone shaft, reinstall. remember, this is just temporary. If cleaning helped, buy a new one soon. JMO
