Check the radiator fan by using the jumper wires from the battery to the electrical connection on the radiator fan to wire it directly to the battery. If it fails to operate the fan is bad.

Coolig fan not working on 2000 jeep 4 .0 what do i do to fix it?

Frank, a few things to check any fuses blown ? is there a separate relay for it ? some jeeps use a coolant temp sensor to make fan come on, located next to thermostate , is your A/C fan working ?it uses the same power sorce.

2009 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited, overheats while driving in off-road conditions (Sand). Dealer has checked for any leaks but everythign seems fine. The 4WD Shifter liankage has been replaced twice....

Your cooling system works by getting air flow over the radiator and good circulation of coolant in the radiator as well as other areas of the motor.
The fan for your radiaror is electric, but it is designed to run at different speeds depending on conditions. First, I would verify that the fan DOES run. Sitting in the driveway with the engine at operating temperature, turn the A/C on and see if the fan speed increases right away or increases after running for 10 minutes. It should have a higher pitched sound. Look at the temperature gauge again and see if it is still at operating temperature. If the temperature continues to climb, turn the heater on full blast and watch the temperature gauge, it should drop.
No increase in fan speed means you could have a module problem or other problem related to the fan speed. In your relay box, relay "K11" is the fan relay. The relay box is in the engine compartment. The underside of the cover will identify what relays go for what. Some Jeeps used 2 relays, 1 for low speeds and the other for high fan speeds. The fan and module are replaced as a unit. The PCM (power control module is the brain for the engine management system including the controling of the fan relays. Sometimes the relays are the same and you can swap them with each other to see if there is a change. Note: If the temperature is normal when you are driving down the road, than the cooling system is normal and it is the fan.
Good luck.

1995 grand cherokee limited overheats when the a/c is on

Check the fan operation to the radiator. If the secondary fan doesn't come on it can't dissipate the heat generated from the condensor. There are relays that control the fan under the hood in the electrical center. Check power and ground to both fans when vehicle running A/C on, both fans should be running. Check for blockage in front of rad / condensor.

Car gets hot while idling, fuse is good, and fan does not come on with the AC... fan spins when manually pushed...

Fan does not necessarily get jammed when it fails.. Unplug the fan and hot wire it to the battery. If it comes on, it's good if not, change it. If it comes on when jumped, check the fan relay. Many jeeps have three fans. One that comes on with a/c, one that is operated by the temp control system and a mechanical one that comes on when the engine gets hot (has a heat sensitive lock up feature)
The automatic one operates as follows: temp sending unit sends signal to the computer which sends ground signal to the relay which then sends power to the fan. Likely that is the malfunctioning system you need to check. Some relays are in the power distribution center and sometimes the relay is tucked in front of the battery.

Where is the radiator fan control relay located on a 2002 jeep cherokee and how is it replaced

On Jeeps there is a relay control center usually next to the firewall (under the hood) on the passenger side. Some models are actually mounted on the firewall.

Radiator fan will not come on my 1999 jeep over heats when standing still

Jeeps had a problem with the fan relays and fans on those models. The relay is mounted inside the engine compartment behind the passenger headlight. Try removing the relay and jumping it out. If the fans come on when the relay is jumped, you can try replacing the relay to see if that fixes the problem. If the fans don't come on, check the wiring from the relay to the fans. You can disconnect the fan connector and jump power and ground directly to that to eliminate bad wiring. If it still doesn't turn on the fan needs to be replaced.
