The DTC P0031 Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Heater Control Circuit Low Voltage Sensor 1 diagnostic monitors the operation of the HO2S 1 heater circuit. The heaters in the oxygen sensors increase the amount of time the sensor spends in Closed Loop fuel control operation or catalyst monitoring operation. The oxygen sensor heater greatly reduces the amount of time required for the fuel control HO2S 1 to become active. The heater helps provide accurate oxygen content readings of the engine exhaust by the HO2S.

How do you reset the computer so it can go through emmissions.

I would veture a guess the failure is an emission code problem and the conditions for the failed problem are not met. Make sure the fuel level is just below 3/4 full. That will allow the emissions tests to run. You can also disconnect the battery cable for 10 minutes and that will reset the fault counter.

Check engine light due to emmission problem

You need to have an OBII scan (fault scan) done to identify what triggered light. Any good parts store or shop can do it for you free.

Have a 2008 Chevy Aveo. The check engine light is on w/a po420 code. The dealer shpwed me a TSB that stated that this is a problem w/the catalytic converter but first have to replace all 4 injectors. Does...

TSB are technican sevice buliton
since this is an emmission problem for both catalitic and injectors
it should be covered under emmission warranty (check to be sure)
injectors could be overfuelling causing catalitic to malfunction setting off codes
or pluging up with carbon

I have a 2010 toyota Yaris, I see a Check light with a picture of an engine on my dash board, what does that mean?

Probably that you have an emmissions issue...
If the light stays on after you start the car...
consult your dealership... your car is under warranty so whatever they do is free anyways...

you probaly have a small pin hole in the evap system somewhere. Mechanics usually wont try to fix this problem because its a pain in rear end to locate the leak. This problem should not effect the performance of the car
