In the 05 E320, the cabin air filter in under the hood on the passanger side at the back wall... There is a black odd shade square cover that says "air condtioner" "battery in trunk/back"... One nut holds this cover down, then it un-hooks.. The cabin air filter is attached to the underside of this black cover.

How do i acess the cabin filter on a 99' MB E320

Posted on Apr 05, 2009

I found the filter under the hood as indicated and replaced it with an new factory filter. The odor has decreased but hasn't gone away entirely. I would be interested in any any additional steps that I can take to neutralize the odor.

That is NOT the only filter that affects the cabin air.  There is another(s) filter that I have not located but the dealer has for sale.

How do i change the air filter in my mercedes e-320 sedan?

Remove the air intake tubes on the left and right sides. Pull up the complete air filter housing off of the rubber mounts. Turn the air filter housing upside down and there will be 4 - T20 torx head screws on each sides. Unscrew these torx screws to gain access to the filter. Install new air filters and put housing back on in reverse order. Please remember to rate this solution. Thanks!

Some mb dealers say they change oil and filter and air filters and cabin filter but they dont they charge you for this service this happens alot in florida

If this is the case contact DVM of your state they regulate thier license to service vechicles form a complaint with them if you can prove this to be true. They cant repair with a suspended license. But this is based by the state IM in IM not sure if FL is the same with licensing

Where is the oil filter for 1998 e320 Mercedes Benz

This car does not use the common "spin on" style oil filter. It uses a cartridge style (common back in the 1950s and 60s) style oil filter. The filter housing is located on the top front of the engine on the driver's side. The filter element is accessed by removing the black plastic top of the filter housing. Wrap a rag around the plastic top and very carefully use a pair of slip joint ( aka Channelloc) pliers to remove the top of the housing. It is a normal right hand thread and screws off. The filter element is found inside.
