Seeing how we have no information on your vehicle and engine, lets start with checking for any adjustment that could be tightened to stop it, and if it is a tensioner only style, then I'd replace the belt. Clean pulleys off good before installing new belt, and check that no liquids are dripping on any of the pulleys or belt.

You can either adjust tension of belt (tighten) or replace belt or belt tensioner.

1998 Mitsubishi Montero Sport LS. squeals on startup until something kicks on. Also does the same everytime i stop at stop sighn etc. while driving. what could be the cause of that?

Sounds like its a loose belt. more likely to be an auxiliary drive belt as the important ones like the cam belt are usually toothed so as not to slip. should be a simple case of replacing the belt

Squeal accelerating

I believe you have a couple problems. The squeal could be an idler pulley, tensioner, alt or something else on the front of the motor. The oil issue is something else I believe. Keep an eye on you oil level.

I just replaced power steering pressure hose on a 2002 Hyundai Sonata GLS 6 cylinder. Now its s squeals really bad when I turn the steering wheel and the belts are squealing like mad too what do I need to...

Looks like you need a new belt. Inspect the belt for any sign of damage like cracks etc. If belt appears fine then just tighten it. Add few drops of brake oil on pulley (surface which comes in contact with belt) to stop minor squeals if left after tightening the belt.

The fan clutch or belt to it, is making a screeching noise and then stops after a few minutes. We've tried everything to get it to stop. What lshould we do?

The bearings in the fan clutch, or idler pulley may be going out, which would create extra resistance. This would cause the belt to squeal until everything is moving like it should. Try to lube the bearings, and put some belt stop squeal spray on the belt ridges. If this doesn't help, take the belt off and find which pulley is causing the extra resistance.

My car squeals whil in idle but not so much when im driveing it

Get the serpentine belt inspected or replaced.

To test open hood and while its squealing spray some water on it. If it subsides for a few seconds then you know where the source is.

Timing belt on 1996 mazda protege slips during startup

Hello, this to me sounds like your fan belt slipping (not timing belt). To adjust the fan belt you need to undo your bolt on the alternator, pull it tight onto the fan belt and while holding it tight do the bolt back up tightly. this will stop yoour fan belt from slipping. I hope this helps.
