Question about 1991 Toyota Camry

AC cools fine for about a half hour, shorter when it's hot outside, and then stops until the motor cools down. That is, a hot engine compartment seems to disable the AC. 1991 Camry Wagon.

Is your electric radiator fan working? Some Toyotas have 2 radiator fans, 1 of them is for the A/C. It should be on anytime the A/C compressor is engaged.

A few things to check, first when you turn on the a/c the electric cooling fan should come on and stay on any time the a/c is on if it does not then this is your problem, have the fan system checked, or you can test the system yourself if you need the wiring diagram let me know and i will get it for you but most of the time when we see an inop. fan it is just a bad fan motor, if the fans are running with the a/c on then you need to check the charge in the a./c system a low or an over filled system could cause this problem as well.but in any case you need to check both of these things out then get back with me and let me know what you find out. i am betting the fan are not working.

Wipers work about 5 seconds then stop until engine is shut off about an hour. Then repeat.

Sounds like the windshield wiper motor is getting too hot. The wait an hour is waiting for that to cool down.
The wiper motor is located usually under the hood, on the firewall on the passenger side.
You should be able to feel the wiper motor getting too hot when the wipers are turned on.
Hope this helps.

Overheating problem, what is the most probable cause?

You need to stop using it immediately before you
cause some damage or more than you may already have
That is just common sense. It should not overheat or
be any different than it was in the past without problem

The car has to be checked over/diagnosed,tested,etc for
various issues to resolve

Borrow or Rent a car until resolved

No way to guess at the problem

You should have some type of codes avail even
if the check light isn't on,you need professional help
to get a start on resolving

The timing belt maybe worn & jumped or the head gasket
bad.

Over heating isn't usually a cheap repair unless the thermostat
sticks partially closed

The RPM moves around the car is 11 years old,so it may just
need a though going over

Timing Belt,O2 Sensors,Exhaust Converter,Spark Plugs
and such

If you depend on a repair shop to do things & don't
have the knowledge to request work done throughout
the year, then you run into a lack of proactive preventative
maintenance situation. Most things are simple looking
back, once resolved

Where are the cooling fan relays located?

This may not help, but it looks like two fan relays are in a box on the passenger side of the engine compartment. The info should be in the owners manual.
Let me know if you don't find it.

1994 vw golf 1.9 overheating

First question is what constitutes "overheating".
Since the car has been parked for years, the thermostat could be sticking closed.
The cooling system could have air pockets and need to be bled.
The water pump may be corroded inside and not pumping enough volume.
If the gauge goes above half way, the fans should start up. But half way should be more or less normal, not hot yet.
I would look at flow problems first, beginning with removing the thermostat and driving it without one for a few days. Also check and see if there is a process to bleed the cooling system of air.

My 2001 sunfire starts fine.but after i drive for about half hour it will stall and wnt start again for half hour.the oil light stays on when this happens.wassup with this?

This happened with my Sunfire. It was the radiator. The engine wasn't cooling, but the sensor wasn't showing that it was overheating. So the engine would start when it was cool, but as soon as it got hot, then if I stopped it wouldn't start again.

Kia sportage 2000 engin chech signal come but not go hard start

If the vehicle was running hot it will continue to overheat until you locate a coolant leak and repair or replace the leaking part. It is critical you do not wait to repair this. You must first add water to your cooling system before you can troubleshoot the problem. Add the water while the vehicle is cooled down. If the vehicle is having trouble starting it is possible that you have allowed the engine to run hot too long. You could also have a head gasket leak from the motor. This could let coolant leak into the oil and you can check your oil and find a milky white substance that is a mix of coolant and oil. If that is the case you need to take the vehicle to a motor repair shop. To troubleshoot leaking cooling system get or borrow a cooling system leak check kit. It screws on in place of the radiator cap, you pump it up and use a flourescent light to then look in the engine compartment under the hood for a dripping green coolant leak. Good luck.

Engine Overheats when AC is on..

It sounds like your AC compressor bearings may be overheating causing excessive drag/loading on the engine. No easy way to check this unless you can take the serpentine belt off when the car won't start and see if it is really hard to turn the compressor shaft.
