Brake bleeding

It is a relatively simple process if the bleed nipple will unscrew but they often seize and can easily snap off.

The process is covered in most repair manuals and do-it-yourself, home mechanic type publications.

There are one-man brake bleeding tools available but the traditional method is to have an assistant to pump the brake pedal and keep the reservoir topped up while the operator has slackened the bleed nipple a turn or two, attached a length of good-fitting rubber hose to the bleed nipple and while the free end is dangling in a clean jar containing some fluid watches for the air bubbles to cease and shouts instructions to the assistant; typically five firm but steady strokes of the pedal and then top up the brake reservoir and then five more if needed. When the bubbles cease the call is for the assistant to hold it down next time when the operator will close and tighten the bleeder.

Diagram of rear brakes on 1954 Ford Custom line

My Motor's manual that covers 1954 isn't in very good shape to scan, but this video of the front brakes shows the basics, only the rear has the rear axle instead of the front spindle in the middle. They are very basic brakes.
The shoe with the shorter lining goes toward the front of the vehicle if they are different.

307 sticking door - lock cease - been informed this is a common issue however not seen anything on any Forums of any use (YET)

If all doors are ceased then i can't give you any advice except to call a technician but if its only one door then try this as i've done two years before.
Enter the car from any door and try to unscrew the main screw of door arm rest. Pull the door panel forward with some force and try to locate position of the plastic lock nuts. One or two must be broken in order to create some space between door body and panel. If there is enough space then you can put your hand in (mechanics use some kind of long and thin bendable metal rod) and try to feel and find the door lock mechanism. Take a long notch screw driver and insert it in between the sill hook and door lock from inside the the door body to release the door lock.

I would recommend you to go to a mechanic that would solve your problem in minutes as they have the necessary tools and know exactly how to open a ceased door lock.

Brake light on

you most likely are looking at the ABS pump unit for the brake system. In all honesty, let the repair shop handle the repair for that unit as they should have the equipment to test the unit for problems.
