WHAT IS THE TRANSMISSION FLUID FOR CVT 2.2 L FWD

it's very special, and if done wrong, dooms the trans-axle
all this is covered, in the FSM
read it in the book and on most cars the CVT has very very
special needs and procedures for changing lube.
some, it must be done a s special temperature. < yes.

ever seen and FSM. (for doing factory service)
it shows all the steps, 1 by 1.
login to alldata.com
the lube is at GM. dealers.
03 VUE
VT25e (cvt made in Hungary)
GM RPM code M75(2WD)/M16(F4WD)
spec, fluid
DEX-CVT and Automatic Transmission Additive
8.53qt
there are 10 service bulletins on this trans-axle
TSBs (read them all)
see the special additive yet>?
quote.
Notice:
Use DEX CVT fluid (P/N 22688912) only. Use of
any fluid other than DEX CVT will
cause internal trans=axle damage.
Important:
Add one unit (10 CC syringe) of DEX CVT additive (P/N 22697447) whenever an unrecoverable loss of fluid occurs during an authorized limited on vehicle repair. Minor fluid
loss, such as minor drips that may occur during the fluid checking procedure, does not require the addition of the additive.

What are the necessary repairs for a 2002 S500 Mercedes with 91000 miles? What should your car be serviced for by this point

Hi, this really depends on its service history.

The following are the recommended service intervals on the Merc S500:

Note: operate A/C at least once per week, to maintain lubrication.

Underhood & Undervehicle

Every 3,000 miles - Replace engine oil & oil filter. Clean battery terminals. Adjust drive belt. Check power steering fluid. Check steering & CV BOOTS for wear and replace if necessary. Lubricate front end suspension.

Every 6,000 miles - Check transmission fluid condition and level. Check brake pads and caliper components - replace if necessary. Lubricate driveshaft U-joints. Rotate tires. Lubricate wiper arm linkage and pivots.

Every 12,000 miles - Adjust engine valve clearance. Replace distributor cap & rotor. Drain and replace engine Coolant. Replace Air Filter element. Replace Fuel Filter. Replace wiper blades.

Every 24,000 miles - Replace Drive Belt. Replace A/C Compressor Drive Belt. ** Change auto transmission fluid & trans filter (this is critical and must be adhered to) - preferrably do a trans flush at same time. Replace drive AXLE fluid.

Every 36,000 miles - Replace HT leads.

Every 2 years - Replace brake fluid (also clutch fluid if applicable). Replace power steering fluid.

** If you intend to keep this vehicle long term, then consider changing the trans fluid & filter every 20,000 miles. This is the secret to automatic transmission longevity.

Im leaking transmission fluid and i dont think i have coverage to repair it

Generally the trans pan is first to leak on any transmission. If the perimeter of the pan espeacially the mounting bolts are wet with red fluid change the filter and gasket. Add transmission fluid as recommended in the owners manual also
If the leak is between the engine and the trans the front pump seal or pump seals need replacement.
If leaking at the axle shafts the axle seals need replacing

Tranny isnt shifting properly. changed fluids and filter but still sticking and causing engine over reving

Changing the fluid and filter, only gives you a new filter and newer, cleaner fluid. It does not perform any sort of repair function. In fact,if your trans slips, changing the fluid makes it worse.

If you adjusted the cable on the throttle body, that will mess it up,if not done correctly
You could pull the valve body and clean it,but I think your close to pulling and rebuilding the trans.

Sounds less like a transmission slip as a rear end issue. What exactly happens on the turn?

My trans fluid gets really hot after about 2 miles from 70 deg far to 132 deg f

try changing the trans fluid and filter, if the filter is plugged up it will make the trans work harder to pump the fluid and making it get very hot

Rear axle bearings

There are 4 bolts for each rear axle. They are located behind the rear brake drums. Remove e-brake cable from rear drum and take off brake line.(carefully). I recomend draining and changing your rear differential fluid too, because if the fluid by run out of axle housing. also you should replace the seals for the axles of if you are changing the bearings. When you are done don't forget to bleed your brakes, and hooking up e-brake cable. I hope this answers your question.

A/T light montero 1995

Well, that is a good sign there were no chunks in the pan.I would pull the codes out of the computer. You will need someone with a scan tool that will hook up to your vehicle, and access the diagnostic trouble codes.Once the code is identified, that gives a narrower area to look at.Yes on the fluid and filter, basically. The flush removes all of the old trans fluid, while changing the fluid and filter is changing about half the fluid, but that's just fine too.
