2005 avalanche 5.6 LT Z71 at times will not start, well...starts but stops right away, when it starts none of the gauges work, windows, door locks, radio, air, they may or may not start working, sometimes...

This sounds like an "anti theft security" problem to me. Symptoms: Start and stop within 5 seconds or less. Random starting problems, good one day bad the next. SECURITY light illuminated on dash somewhere. (might not be lit due to the bypass that HAD to be done to install remote start) Read up on this link and compare symptoms.

Wont start some times

GM's are notorious for failing anti theft systems. This system disables the starter and intermittently will cause the vehicle to not start. Check out this link for more symptoms, info, pictures, and do it yourself solutions. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/

My lights got left on and ran my battery down. Now I got it started and my radio will not work. It doesn't do anything how do I get it to come back on and is there a lock code?

Your radio has an anti-theft devise that shuts the radio down if the radio is stolen(when the power is lost). You will have to have the anti-theft code reset by a dealer. There is nothing wrong with the radio.

Service anti theft system light is on, car won't start

Try turning the key to the on position with the dash lights on. Let the vehicle sit for 15 minutes with the drivers door open. That should reset the anti-theft device.

Theft system causing my car not to start

Reconnect the battery and turn the key to the ON position for ten minutes until the ANTI-THEFT light goes off. The car should start then if the theft system was the problem.

Anti-theft/security light on dash doesn't flash on 2005 avalanche

Several GM products, including the Chevrolet Impala and Malibu, the Oldsmobile Alero, the Pontiac Grand Prix, and Saturn Ion, have issues with the Security light coming on. This is many times an indication of a failing Body Control Module (BCM). Initially, the Security light will come on then go off, progressing to a constant on light, before the car will refuse to start. Other symptoms may include erratic action of electronics, a clicking sound coming from the glove box, and the air conditioning failing to blow cold air. I recommend a shop that specializes in the electronic systems of vehicles to diagnosis and make the necessary repairs. They should keep the car until they replicate the symptoms described. A new BCM from GM should cost about $230; plan on another $200 for them to diagnose the problem, replace the unit, and program the new unit. The dealers quote between $700 and $1,100 for the same repair. My experience and the experiences I have read on the internet, indicate the new BCM should last only about a year.
