I wouldnt start it again till you check the fuel lines for leaks(dont want to burn it up) I then suggest you look for vacuum leaks & do a compression test.pull spark plugs & look for oil fouled spark plugs &smell & observe for signs of raw gas.keep posted

Chevy lumina 1994 wont start smells like gas

Could be flooded out.Try starting it again with the gas pedal to the floor. Everytime you turn the key on, it shoots gas in the engine. When you try to start it, keep doing it for 20 to 30 seconds. Then let off. wait a couple minutes and do it again.

Foel problem

When you smelt fuel, It was flooded. Your best bet would be to replace the spark plugs. Gas will foul them out, just like oil.

Will not start appears no gas

The most common reason a car will crank but not start and you smell gas is you flooded it. Too much gas to the engine causes too rich a fuel mixture and the fuel won't ignite.Click this link below for more troubleshooting :---http://technoanswers.blogspot.com/2012/01/car-will-not-start-and-smells-like-gas.html

Experienced recent cold weather. Car will not

It's flooded like you say.
If it's really flooded, you'll have to remove plugs and dry them off.
Install them.
Now when you crank engine, hold gas pedal to floor.
That will stop gas from spraying into engine.
You need to get the gas out of the engine for it to start.
Crank for 20-30 seconds with pedal to floor. Do this 3 times waiting 2-3 minutes inbetween cranks.
The starter needs to cool down.
Then after that start normally and see if it will start.
Remember if it will not start after 2 attempts, then the possiblity of it flooding is there and you'll have to clear out the gas by holding the pedal to the floor again.

My 2005 sonata starts after trying several times. It just turns over like a car out of gas, then usually on the third time it will start.

Sounds like its either fuel or ignition. Have someone turn the car over while you sniff the exhaust.
If it smells of raw unburnt gas , fuel is not the issue , your problem is most likely ingition. Car might run rough at first when it does start , due to being slightly flooded.
If no gas smell probably a fuel problem. Possible low fuel pressure , or no fuel injection.

My chevy blazer doesn't start , i have ignition and fuel pomp is running but it won't start , after 15 seconds you can smell the gas . even after 24 ours of waiting it doesn't start .

after the 15 sec. the gas smell means it could be flooding. when you say you have ignition you mean spark? your fuel pump can still come on and you can hear it, but that doesnt mean its not bad.

1995 nissan pulsar wont run properly

What your smelling fuel for is the fact that once you start it your flooding the **** out of it.. your fuel relese valve needs to be closed up a bit, your intake for fuel is to high basically, this can and will happen due to racing, vibration, or just over time. Its one of those problems that occurs now and then, it is a simple fix!!
