Question about 1998 Ford Windstar
IF you can't get to a dealer and have a friend with the same model try and fit your computer to his car if runs Ok you will know the trouble is the wiring or a censer and the computer is ok .DON'T fit his unit to your car as it may have a fault and cause damage .

PCM (computers) don't fail too often
You need to have the vehicle proper diagnosed
You didn't say what the issues were.
Any new PCM will have to be reprogrammed,
most likely at a dealer, as not too many shops
will pay for the access to the MFG Site
Forget anything you were told & just have it diagnosed first
