Immediately check your brake fluid level. If its low, you may have a leak within the brake system. This also allows air to enter the brake lines causing insufficient braking power. If levels are ok, have the ABS actuator checked for proper function. Have it diagnosed immediately, as this may cause a major accident.

The anti lock brake light and regular brake lights are on, in my 2001 mitsubishi montero limit truck what does that mean

Hello,
First this means you should not drive it until the repairs are done. Your brakes very well may not respond with both warning light indicators lit up. So one light is for your brakes and one is for your ABS system. The ABS light on means there is a malfunction in your ABS system. A sensor or something in the wiring. Now this light on alone indicates the need for a repair but the car could be driven temporarily. The ABS system makes your brakes fluctuate so "locking up" is avoided. The Oil light itself means something in your brake system is malfunctioning and hydraulic compression could be lost anytime. Both together is not good. I recommend first you check the brake fluid in your car. If it is below what it should be then this alone could set the Oil Light on. A brake light out could set your ABS light indicator on as well. So check the two things and if you are lucky this could fix each light. If not then you need to have this addressed by a auto technician as soon as possible.
Regards, Tony

I cannot afford to replace the anti lock module and have heard I can unplug it and use my brakes without the ABS system. Is this true and do I just unplug the electrical cord from the ABS module box? My...

You shouldn't even have to unplug the module. If the ABS light is illuminated it means there is a fault in the system and your ABS is not working properly. If you are driving it, you are currently driving without ABS brakes.

Anti lock brake light and buzzer on wonld like to know what to check for or look for

abs modules do work overtime on a car. they do brake down from time to time. all four wheels have sensors that regulate control, braking and stability of the car. the sensors could be faulty or the abs module is packing up. don't take it to the agents, they will rip you off. there are people that can overhaul this and you will be on your way. good luck
