Question about 2004 Kia Optima

1 Answer

My 2005 Kia Optima wouldn't start after seeming to get less power during three stops throughout the day. Finally, it wouldn't turn. I figured it was the alternator, but the mechanics checked the charging system and all was fine after getting the battery recharged. Two weeks later, exact same thing. What is the problem if not the alternator? Thanks to anyone, KD Phoenix, Az

Your battery may be weak, or becoming dead celled!! Replace it with a new one and if the problem persists, replace the alternator!

flassed less engine power wth????????? Flashed reduced engine power ! Electronic throttle control problem ! Your best bet ,take it to a GM dealer , buick , cadillac , GMC . You do not have diagnostic test equipment or knowledge to even diagnose this.

The car dies out, it will turn over but wont start, it ran one day then wouldn't

It is probably one of three things. It isn't getting a proper spark, proper fuel, or proper compression. Good luck!--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Could be the serpentine belt has failed. I have had that experience.

Pulley squeaks in 2007 Kia Optima

If it's a stand-alone pulley, it would have bearings which may be worn and about to fail. If it's a pulley on a component, like a power steering pump pulley, the component may need troubleshooting.

2004 Kia Optima runs on only three cylinders

Only need three things to run. Fuel, spark and compression. If you have spark and injector pulse you might want to compression test the suspect cylinder. A leak down test with compressed air with the adjacent spark plug(s) removed wouldn't hurt either to verify no bad head gasket. Good luck

Hi
Pop into to your local garage and have a diagnostic test carried out.
Listen to the advise given. It may save you lots of money, especially if you start the "guessing" game.
It does sound like a part may be blocked or failed though, but the sytem needs to be tested thoroughly first.
Good luck

01 kia optima stalled and wont start...starter just clicks

It seems the starter is playing up.First check if your battery is charged fully or try to jump start and see what happens. If the engine start then it's either you need a new battery or else you need a replacement alternator.Test using a voltmeter if the actual altenator is working. Finally the last option is the starter motor that needs changing or fixing...Hope this helps.
