It is going to be down by the crank pulley on the side of the engine, and usually has a one or two wire connector attached. In almost all cases, it is held in place by one bolt. You do not say what engine you have, but if you are more specific, we can tell you exactly where it is located.

Is there a breaker or fuse for the fuel pump on a 1991 Pontiac Firebird with a 3.1 leter engine? If either where is it located?

The electric fuel pump's operation on that vehicle is triggered by the powertrain control module, activated by a relay (likley located under the hood in the power distribution center, if not check the fire wall and underhood near the fenders) and protected by a fuse (the fuse is likely located in the fuse block that is under the dash, if not it will be under the hood in the power distribution center).

Crankshaft Position Sensor

The crank sensor is on the front of your engine behind the harmonic balancer. You will need a balancer puller for a 3.8 and a crank sensor alignment tool to do this lob.
