Question about 1995 Nissan Pickup

1 Answer

I was driving on the highway and ran out of gas, the truck started slowing down and eventually quit as I pulled to the side of the road. I tried starting it quite a few times and eventually had a friend come and pick me up and we put gas into the vehicle and it would not turn over. We connected jumper cables and made sure it had power but to no avail it would not start, almost like it didn't have the power to at first, but after the first initial try it tried and tried to kick over, but never did. I towed the truck, put 20 dollars worth of fuel in it, and went home. I proceeded to pull start it and it would not turn over, and the gas smell was awful. So, after pulling it back to the barn, we removed the gas tank and put a new fuel pump in. Reconnected everything and it wouldn't kick over. Checked all the fuses, the coil, the distributor, the spark pulgs and the battery terminal wires. Still nothing. This is driving me crazy and I need this vehicle because my work is a 45 minute drive. I have spent all weekend on this and need help desperately. Thank you.

You need to start with a GOOD battery-if you do not have a charger, borrow one or buy one that has starting capability. Turn on your key and check for fuel coming out of the fuel rail (use a rag to keep it from spraying all over you/the place).-Once you determine you have a STEADY STREAM of fuel, take the plugs out and dry them off with a towel-start it up, if you have fuel, spark and the plugs are dry, it will start.

Why does my tahoe use so much gas

its not the gas its the price of the gas that seems like bad mileage go to gas station and fill till gas pump clicks off at slow fill record mileage and gallons to fill/road test for 25 miles go back to same gas station same side of gas pump and refill at slow fill and record miles and gallons to refill this will give you best practice for fuel mileages/PS drive in cityor highway not both causes difference in gas mileage

if its been a while change the fuel filter and then have the fuel pressure and volume checked.these symptoms are very common for a fuel pump problem.

I have ran my 01 lexus is 300 on empty and got stauled on side of the road now with out not paying attention i tryed to start the car now that i got gas back in the car it drives very badly why?

you probably picked-up some bad gasoline or the container that was used to refill had water in it. fill the tank and put some fuel additive in the tank and drive. it should be alright after a few highway miles.

Your transmission probably has some severe problems. If a sensor in the tranny has gone bad and is keeping it in first gear, it won't be able to do anything, not even crank.
