Sorry to be a pain but any chance of a clearer picture?

  • synergyconsu May 23, 2011

Hi - that helps thanks. Just to give you a bigger picture the mechanic has worked on this same car a couple of years back. We have just had to replace the diesel pump and it all needs resetting up. At the time the mechanic was able to source several pages of info on what to do, he thought he had put it in a safe place but alas no. The pictures help but can you also supply written step by step instructions as well. Sorry to be a pain.

Great I think thats what we are after. Might need to clarify some of the info as some hasn't come out too clear. But will get back to you.

    Thanks

    • No worries. I will make it a bit bigger. I will split it up into two pictures so I can load each one in a bigger format.

Let me know if these are big enough. I can chop'em up a tad bigger if need be.

    Regards,

    Tony

    • Not a pain at all. After I re-sized the pictures I went ahead and sized the step by step instructions for a timing job, right from the manual for you. Here you are.

    • Should you need to make them words a tad bigger just hold the "control" button on your PC down and scroll up on the mouse at the same time to make the screen bigger. Do the same but scroll down to make it bigger and hold "control" button down and press "0" (zero the number) at the same time to set your browser to normal again.

    Regards,

Ahh, Hold "control" and scroll down on the mouse to make the screen *smaller* that is.

How do we time a 1998 1999 106 peugeot diesel car

if i remember rightly then their are holes in the timing gears which you push a 8 mm drill bit through to lock the gear wheel for the timing pump and the camshaft into position ,the crankshaft keyway points to the top of the engine ,make sure you turn engine over 360 degrees after fitting the new belt by hand to ensure the valves clear ,look at the gears and the back behind the gears for the locating hole ,think the cam is 90,to the right and the pump is to the left m,sorry iam and suffering from old timers so memory is not what it was

My peugeot 206 diesel keeps cutting out, now it

In my opinion cut off problem occurs if engine is not getting sufficient fuel and/or air. Clean the air filter, turbo filter and fuel filter. Check the continuity of diesel flow from filter to hdi pump. If you haven't found any problem there then the possibily the hdi pump and injectors section needs to be checked. If the car has done more than 100000 miles then clean inlet and outlet manifolds including check of turbo and EGR valve. Do everything whatever possible before you take your car to garage. If there is no luck then let your car diagnosed and check any error code recorded by ecu.

Assuming that the timing settings aren't 180 degrees out you might be sucking in air in the fuel line.
