Question about 2006 Toyota Tacoma

2 Answers

I recently took my 2006 toyota tacoma to the tacoma dealership where i regularly have my oil changed. They recomended to me that I get my power steering flushed, brake fluid flushed, recharge the K&N filter (which i will do on my own), and an e.f.i. service. My current mileage is 80018. Is all of this really needed or are they trying to make some extra cash off of me?

In My opinion, they are trying make money with services that are not mandatory. I drove many cars over 100,00 miles and NEVER changed the power steering fluid. Brake fluid should be changed every three years I think, but there again I have gone 100,00o miles+ on the original brake fluid. If the brake fluid is still clear then you should be okay.

Their job is to sell work.however its a good idea to have the brake fluid flushed and the fuel system cleaned.the power steering fluid you don`t have to have flushed, you can if you choose to.you don`t have to have it done at a dealership and it will not void any warranty,if you have extended.

How often do you need to change the oil in a 1997 RAV 4?

If you need to ask this question you should consult the service department at a toyota dealership.....
but i will save you the time and them the agony.... maximum i would change any oil in any vehicle is
5000 miles (8000kilometers) but as i say it never hurts to do it early. oil cahnges are cheap in comparision to replacement engines. break-in period of a toyota engine is closer to 20,000miles (32,00kilometers) in that time i would recommend replacing the oil at 100miles, 500miles, 1000miles, 2500miles and 5000miles on the odometer (not between changes).. break-in period is the most critical in an engines life. after that, regular oil changes make the difference between 150,000miles and 500,000 miles.
I got a '97 rav with 282,000miles and it still runs llike a champ. treat it good and it will run forever...
FOREVER TOYOTA....

No power,

My truck did the same thing. I changed the plugs with the ones the parts store recommended and it still acted gutless. Then I took it to the toyota dealership and they told me the plugs were not the right ones. So make sure you have the right plugs with a couple different parts store. i guess there sensitive and not just any plugs will work. Do it yourself though cause the dealership will rape you. Stevenson toyota in Golden colorado sucks!

2006 Toyota Tacoma V6 engine oil sensor location

There is not enough flow at the sensor for a second oil filter. The sensor is at a dead end in the oil gallery. I recommend that you persue other options here. If you are concerned about oil contamination, don't be. There is nothing better than the factory filter...Look into adding more oil capacity; Look into an engine oil cooler; there is really no need for a second filter.
