Question about 1997 Pontiac Sunfire
I`m assuming this is a dohc motor.have you checked the ignition module and the connections at the module.its located on the cover where the electrical connector fastens to it.it could also be a jumped timing chain possibly by a bad chain tensioner or worn out chain.
