The method that will do the least amount of damage to your vehicle is to call a lock smith who can use a slim jim to get in the vehicle. You could try using a hanger like a slim jim and slip it between the window glass and window seal and try to pop the lock or purchase a slim jim from an Auto Parts store, just don't carry it in the vehicle as that is considered a tool for breaking into vehicles and is against the law in most states to carry. I would go with the lock smith if you don't have a second key.

Sounds to me like the vacuum line to your locking/unlocking device in the non properly working doors are your problem. As more than one door is effected I would suggest the line/connection at the vacuum pump under the back seat is a good place to start looking. The vacuum pump is literally underneath the back seat inside a foam 'pillow'. The backseat is locked down by two devices where the floor and the seat meat. push the visable tab in and that should release that side. Easiest done with two ppl, one on either side.

How do you use the emergency key (small black plastic key hidden inside the fob) to OPEN my 2008 Passat? Is there a place on the door SOMEWHERE TO PUT THE KEY. duh on me, I can't find it.

I found out what to do, there is a plastic covering on the door handle. Click that off and the use the key in the key fob to unlock the door. You can lock & unlock it.

Remote control won't lock/unlock doors, but will open the trunk. What;s wrong?

There is a fuse box under the right rear seat cushion behind the driver. In that box is a 10 amp mini fuse marked "TRUNK DR RELEASE". That is the fuse that powers your remote receiver. If that fuse is good, the receiver may have failed. To remove the seat cushion, pull the front of the cushion up and then forward.

The fuse is under the rear seat on the passenger side and the fuse chart should be with the tools above the spare tire in the trunk. You can pop off the cover with the ambience light to see the fuses. If you find the fuse chart look up central locking. Let me know what you find and I will try to help further if i can.
