Question about 2007 Audi A6 Avant Wagon

2 Answers

How do I stop the passenger side footwell in my Audi A6 Avant (2003) filling with water. The garage have already replaced and sealed the convienience box under the footwell and cleaned out the 2 drains in the engine when it first happed about 3 months ago. It has now happened again just 2 days after a service when the drains were again checked and confirmed as clear. The car was standing in the recent heavy rain for about 24 hours and carpet was again soping wet and the battery had discharged overnight. AA recharged and tested battery. All OK. They were unable to suggest a reason for the fault and do not have it registered on their central log of known faults according to the patrolman. I am at a loss to know what to do next, or where to look, to stop the leak. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. David.

I have exactly the same problem with our 1999 Audi A6 Avant 2.8. We've found out the hard way (replacing the electonics which are so stupudly located under the passenger footwell) that we have to keep the drain under the battery clear, so that's not the problem this time. But still, whenever it rains (just about all the time this summer) the footwell fills up with water again. No idea why, I'm afraid, and I worry that we're going to lose our third electronic 'convenience(!) unit' soon

Mine started with the passenger footwell getting a bit damp in my audi a6 tdi 2001. The electrics then started to play up ABS and TC lights intermitantly flashing at about 30mph. I took it in for audi to review and told them that the door was also sticking so this could be the reason for the passenger footwell getting wet. Audi claimed that the ABS lights were connected to my hazard lights so they changed these to solve the problem, they then told me that the door had been greased to stop water getting in so all should be fine. I was charged over £400 and sent on my way. A few months later in wetter weather it started again and over Xmas holiday the car as seized up and no electrics work and battery is just drained, the footwell is 2 inches deep in water. After researching on the web over the holidays i have found out to my horror that this is a common audi fault all over the world. Audi are fully aware but remain vague and unhelpful. My car was spot checked for ' water drainage problems off the engine' when i last had it in, i thought nothing of it as they said they checked all 2001 models for this issue. I'll be calling Audi to raise this issue and complain tomorrow because when i checked under the battery casing the drainage rubber ducts were missing altogether, therefore gunk and rubbish is freely able to travel into my drain tubes overflowing into the -passenger footwell which is apparently what the fault is!!!!!!!

Hi Guys,
I have had this problem several times and first was solved by claring leaves from two drains under battery. Second time I did the pollen filter thing with silicon as hophouse did above, it is looking good so far.

Where r the pollenfilters located on audi a6 2007 diesel ?

For 2007 Audi A6 depending on the engine type, there are two placements for cabin air filters:
1. The cabin air filters are placed on the right bottom side of the central console - passenger side, for 2007 Audi A6 Avant. Remove the carpet and behind the plastic cover are cabin filters. When installing new filters see for the correct position - air flow is indicated by an arrow. See pictures below:

tdisline_339.jpg 2. For the second placement, besides you need to remove the glove box for access and replace cabin air filters.
Check first your car situation. If you will give me your e-mail address, I will send you photos with cabin filters replacement for 2007 Audi A6, because the www.fixya.com website is limited to 150 kb traffic.

2000 A6 avant. 3 windows open and close but driver's window won't close. Passenger window also went down of its own accord but went back up using switch.

sounds like your window switch is faulty, if you take it to a garage or an auto electrician they will be able to test the switch and the motor
