Question about Dodge Neon

Changed water pump and then car jumped its timing when i was warming car and adding fluids now have to take apart and reset but dont know how

Have it taken to a repair shop

You shouldn't be working around timing
belts to begin with. Neither should the
pros if they have no experience.

Getting to timing chain without tearing down engine 2000 dodge intrepid

I assume you're talking about the 2.7L V6. As you're probably aware (having had it apart before), the timing is properly set by aligning the colored links on the primary timing chain with the marks on the crank sprocket and cam sprockets. The only way I know of to see all these at the same time is to remove the timing cover, and you have to tear the engine apart to remove the timing cover.

You may have gotten the wrong pump. Some are reverse rotation, depending on your belt routing. Remove the thermostat and see if the coolant is flowing in the PROPER direction.

In 2005 chevy impala the heater only gets warm sometimes. Other times it blows cold air. I put fresh antifreeze in. And there is no water on the floor of the car

The adding adding coolant means you have a leak somewhere, and low coolant level will cause this. How often do you check the fluid levels? Check for leaking hoses, weak radiator or expansion tank cap, leak at the water pump, and leaks around the radiator.

Your water pump may need a lubricant. Water pump lubricant is added to the radiator.
When the weather is warm enough, and the engine runs hotter, then the thermostat opens more frequently, the lubricant will mix with the radiator fluid and circulate through the sysem lubricating the water pump.
I had squealing problem after changing the serpentine belt.
Tried changing idler sprocket, no difference.
I added the lubricant to the radiator, unfortunately the weather was cold, and the lubricant did not mix well with the radiator fluid, and did not circulate well do to cold weather and short drives.
Once the weather got warmer and the thermostat opened more often the squealing stopped.

With the engine cool, maybe in the morning. If you have some jugs to put water in fill them up, and put them someplace warm if possible, or just use hot water when your ready to work on it. Take the radiator cap off start the car let it run. (we know it gets hot in 12 mins) You should be able to see the fluid in the radiator move quite a bit after it's warm. If what I'm hoping is the problem, the radiator fluid level will drop a lot maybe as much as a third. If this happens add that warm or hot water to the radiator until almost full. It is bound to hick up a time or to so be careful as you said the temp gauge was at 220 degrees. (hot enough to melt your skin off) Give it a few more minutes as thermostat hopefully is opening and closing. After the fluid level in the radiator stays consistent, place cap on radiator. Let it cool off, how ever long it takes would be best if could wait till temp gauge is close to cold start position. Start it up and see if this helps, if they did indeed replace things, which don't always leave a lot of tool marks. Then maybe they just didn't burp/bleed the cooling system of air. So your cooling system will not work as there is no water in the block only in the radiator. This is a long shot, but only take 30 minutes, at most and a little bit of water. It is possible that the pump failed because of an overheating problem. Make sure the fans run by turning on the air conditioning. They should operate as soon as it is turned on. Bad fans are a common problem. The pump should not have been leaking after replacement though. Make sure you have no leaks first and foremost. Then make sure the fans work. There is also a fan control module located in the area under the battery, but it is difficult to properly diagnose. If the fans do not turn on with the a/c, you can jump the wires at the thermo switch. One should be power, and when you jump to one wire they should go to low speed, the other high.

Icant understand some of what your asking the part I do understand is it seems your loseing water and you want to no where it is going if you dont have a leak if you ran your car hot you could of cracked the head on car it could be mixing in oil Icant understand if your saying you replaced your water pump or you need a new water pump well if you didnt replace water pump and its bad the purpose of the water pump is to push water thru engine and radiator so vehicle engine will stay cool theres ways you can test a water pump is when vehicle is cool open radiator cap let engine warm up until thermostat opens it may take a few minutes if water is not circulating it could be water pump i would also look at thermostat befor changeing water pump if thermostat is bad it will also cause issues its normal to loose some water out of radiator over flow but its not common to be adding it alot due to evaporation you will loose a little water

I had the same problem on my 2000 beetle and I had to change the water pump . Once you change the water pump you have to change the timing belt because the water pump is run by the timing belt .
you could know if it is the water pump by checking the hose that comes from the radiator to the enging to se if there is water running to the engine .
