Question about Mercury Mountaineer

1 Answer

2002 Mercury Mountaineer: Driver's window and passenger window on Driver's side do not go up or down. Driver's window slowly failed just recently. A auto mechanic checked and thought the motors were good. He suggested I order the master windo switch on drivers door panel and replace old one. I did, and nothing happened. Any suggestions? Doug

It sounds like the Regulator on the driver's side has gone bad. The regulator comes with the Window Lift Motor as an assembly. Here is the part you need: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/Dorman-Window-Lift-Motor/2002-Mercury-Mountaineer-2WD/_/N-jga9jZ9ck77?counter=0&itemIdentifier=854469_35830_13036_78655

Looking for the ac low pressure port for the 2002 mercury mountaineer

The low side port is located on top of the reciever/dryer (round cylinder). This is mounted beside the radiator, behind the passenger side headlamp, in front of the air cleaner near the washer fluid resevoir. The high pressure port is on the drivers side and sticks up higher

2002 mercury mountaineer on e window not working

All the windows are on the same fuse, if the other windows are working fine, it's not a fuse issue. I susppect the motor or the window regulator.
With your ear close to the door panel, press the window switch up and down, if you hear the motor and grinding noises then the window regulator needs to be replaced, if you don't hear anything then the motor is bad OR no power is getting to the motor. either way you will have to take the door panel off and to fix.

My 1999 mercury mountaineer driver side window went down and will not come back up all the other window work

I'd look at the window regulator.
If you can hear the motor turning then you're gonna need a regulator.

If you throw the switch with the dome light on and the light gets real dim...then ya might have a bad window motor.

These usually come as a complete assembly both motor and window regulator.
They run about $60 on Ebay

Hope this helps...
