The card key is no longer close my Renault Laguna 1.8 16V Privilege car. The red led light is not responded to the closing button however it is responded to the opening one.
Also, I see many used keys availiable online. I wonder if the used one colud work. I think each key should be preprogrammed for the oriinal car.

You should have a spare key without a card, it just looks like an L shape simple straight key, on either passenger or driver side door there will be a key sign on one of the handle caps, or a small rectangular whole underneath one of the caps, remove the cap and you will see a normal lock enter that spare key and you are all happy days.
Hi 181, I suppose your key has a deactivating button for openning car and switching off alarms.
These cars are designed in such a way that once you lock with remote then you have to open with it. Else will triger alarm even close fule pump
unles you have a spare keycard your options are very limited, either way it will be needing main dealer attention as they are the only ones who can program key cards or order you a new keycard with emergency key

Renault Laguna II Key Remote Control Programming LAGUNA II INFRA RED RESYNCHRONISING 1. Turn the Ignition OFF. 2. Press the central door locking button for more than 5 seconds. Note: the door should lock then unlock. 3. When this happens 15 seconds is allowed and the immobiliser warning light illuminates. 4. Point the 1st key at the receiver and press the button once, the doors should lock and unlock. 5. Point the 2nd key at the receiver and press the button once, the doors should lock and unlock. 6. Check the remote control unlocks and locks the doors.
Hi this was exactly the problem i had with my Laguna 1.9dci its a sensor switch on the steering column. Cricical circuit to the car. so will not run without it. afraid you will have to replace the sensor. had to get renault to do mine.
