It might be the brake booster.

You could have a warped drum , pull the drum and look for uneven wear , also the brake pads will be worn unevenly , if you have disc brakes, check that the return shaft is lubed and the unit slides easily

My 2005 gmc envoy is vibrating only when my foot is on brake or when I stop

If you are not a heavy footed braker... then you have an ABS module problem. There are several sites on line that will do an exchange for a rebuilt one for around $100. If you are a heavy footed braker, your car is behaving normally, Just don't press so aggressively and the vibration won't happen. ABS brakes are supposed to shudder and vibrate when activated, they apply pressure to your brake calipers at roughly 15,000 times a sec, off and on to prevent the brakes from locking up and the car loosing control. In a panic stop, press a car with ABS brakes ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR as hard as you can, use the steering wheel for leverage and push the pedal down a bit more, RIGHT BEFORE IT COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP.

I HAVE A 2004 AZTEK AND HAVE VIBRATION WHEN PRESSING GAS PEDAL. WHAT CAUSES THIS?

you don't say where the noise is. that is important to give a clue where the issue is. when stopping on the brakes 3 things happen. you press the pedal and the abs pump starts pumping fluid. the second is the brake capilers start pushing on the rotors to slow the car. the rotors are attached to the wheels and that stops the car. so if the rotors are warped you will feel a vibration in the steering wheel when stepping on the brakes. if its your foot feeling the pump working that is normal for abs pumping. you should feel it and holding the pedal will keep it working and stop you from skidding if everything is working correctly

Why are breaks hard to press and car won't start

Check that the vacuum hose on the brake booster is ok if it has come apart it will be hard to start . have you checked the fuel and the ignition system ?. to check the brake booster , with the engine stopped press the brake pedal down ,then start the engine, the pedal will move down a little if the booster is ok . if the brakes are still hard to press the wheel cylinders may be stuck.

I've had my 2008 ford focus 1.6si for 7 months now and never had a problem with the braking system. A week ago my bad luck changed. Whilst I was driving and braked for the stop sign the brake pedal all...

Hello, The Vibration in the brake pedal was likely the Antilock brake unit starting to work. It works when the 4 wheel sensors detect that the wheels are moving at different speeds from each other. This reduces skidding and pulling from a locked up wheel.

You need to have the Brake pads checked for wear. The rear brakes can have an additional problem because there are 2 sets of brakes in back, the Service brakes and the Emergency brakes. Sometimes the pads come unglued from their mounts and jiggle loosely in their holders.

Your Brake booster is also questionable along with the Master cylinder. This can explain the lack of power assist when you press on the brake pedal. While your problem can be all of these things, if only 1 or 2 are bad, you may not need to buy everything.

There are electric tests available for the ABS unit for Diagnosis. The rest require a manual and visual evaluation. I hope my Solution is very helpful towards fixing your problem.

I have a 2000 Toyota Tundra V8 4 wheel drive. I just replace new rotor, caliper(old and rusted), and brake pads( front left/right wheel). 1) My friend and I bleed the brake line. I pumped the brake pedal...

Bleed the new caliper again and see if you have ABS. Sometimes those units gave to be bled too. Also check your manual or look online to verify the sequence for bleeding. Keep the master cylinder full through the entire process. If it drops too low, you likely pulled air into the lines and need to start over.

Strange vibration at the pedal when breaks lock

sounds like warped rotors, if the steering wheel also shakes then that would tell me its in the front, replace the front pads and rotors that will solve your problem.dont try resurfacing youll just have pulsating brakes again in a month or two.

check balance of tires; if ok, have rotors refinished or replaced; most likely warped rotors if you can feel it in the brake pedal when braking

Brake pedal vibration

Sounds like sticky caliper for one reason or another which has probably warped rotor(s). When that vibration occurs & you pull over to stop it, carefully touch rim to see if hot, or hotter than other side, which is a good indicator to tell you which one is sticking. Don't just change one though, do both.
that is provided it's just not a case of lubricating sliders etc, to get calipers moving freely.
