If it's the stock battery, it's probably about time for a new one. The corrosion on it has probably caused it to wear out a little bit faster than normal. An auto parts store can test it and tell you if you need a new one. The trunk leak should probably be fixed if you don't want to do it again sooner than normal. They can sell you a weather stripping at the auto parts store too.

Water in trunk of toyota avalon

Either your rear windows leaks or the boot seal is cracked, torn or not glued properly on the car body flange. Check these first, or try and sit in the boot with a strong torch and have someone to hose the rear part of the car. Usually you'll find the leak and fix it.

2001 Mercedes S500 Dead Battery, cannot open the trunk to access battery.

Hi, if you can open the hood, use jumper cables to open the trunk. Connect the negative cable to chassis ground or even the engine. Connect the positive cable to either the big nut on the starter solenoid, the fuse box, or the big charge wire nut on the back of the alternator.

Speedomter moves while car is in park and idling witch is causing engine to run bad

Your right about the run bad the engine and battery grounds are the reason. Under the batery and around their are many diferent wires that are connected to the bidy and the raditor suport right around the battery, After awhile they get rusted and the connections become bad. Remove the battery and the battery box and you'll see the problem, all of these cars do it some. Take every wire off and clean them with a wire brush till they look like new and the place they connect to the body, theirs more than a few so look around their are more on the firewall and in all the kick panels and in the cargo area anywhere near a light. the ones near the battery give the most problems and get them and any that look bad and any that look good do em anyway. the fire wall has grounds too but they don't fail much but engine work and engine changers get in a hurry and leave them off jump starters tend to burn some of the grounds though and bad plug wires can send power were it needs not to go the ingtion coil can get burnson the sides that are a telltale. the ingtion module itself can fail partly as the coil leaks, watch it run in the dark and you might see the problem or if your brave just run your hands over the wires and parts till you feel the problem. ( might even knock you for a loop ) Don't forget to clean the battery cable ends real good ( looks like new money ( I use a powered wire brush on a die grinder) ( get-r-done)

I purchased a 2001 seville sts one month ago. Four days ago I found the trunk pad on the bottom of the trunk to be wet. At the same time I removed the seat bottom of the back seat and found water had...

If your concerned that there may be another place of water entry. Find a shop that has a tool known as the "SMOKER" this is a device that produces white smoke with mineral oil or scentless baby oil. I suggest to fill the trunk up with smoke and see where the smoke escapes to.

Fuel pump relay blew. jumped to battery, worked for a bit, now fuel pump isn't running

Note: dis-connect Battery before you do the following: Open up the trunk-hatch and take the carpet off from the kinda back bumper, then see a circular panel with screw-bolts, get that off and look for rusty connections at the fuel pump cover that go into the fuel tank, this can be dangerous because you MAY have a short right at the transfer panel from exterior wires to interior wires of the fuel tank. At least that was why MY fuel pump shorted out - Bad or rusty connection into the fuel tank.

After it rains water is in trunk Nissan Altima

When diagnosing a water leak, here's a handy tip. Check the accumulated water. If the water is dirty, look for leaks from the underside of the vehicle (floor, wheelwells, etc). If the accumulated water is clean, look for leaks from the topside of the vehicle (trunk seal, window seal, etc). To find where the water is coming from, shut yourself in the trunk with a flashlight and have an assistant run water over the trunk with a garden hose. You may have to remove some of the interior trunk trim to see exactly were the water is coming from, but chances are you'll find it. Also another common cause of water leaks are from impact damage, so check for collision damage repair. while your in there. -hope this helps.

I have a bad battery in my 2005 BMW 530i. I can't

It is located on the right side of your trunk. First lift off the trunk lining then pull out the side lining to reveal the battery among a bunch of wires. Be sure to reconnect the vent (on the front side of the battery-it is housed in a small gray tube connected to a black elbow) this will prevent gas from the battery building up in the trunk.
