Question about 1999 Daewoo Nubira

1 Answer

Manual tranmission The gears cannot be change, tried changing the clutch assembly and the slave cylinder as they were suppose to be the problem. After all the changes the problem still presists. It can change gears when on the hoist, once dropped on the drive, the gears won't change, it can be driven if you crunch the gears in to drive.

02 accent slave cylinder leak and gear grind

Does the car want to pull when sitting still in gear with your foot on the clutch? If so, I would say that your clutch is not fully engaging and could be the cause of your grinding when changing gears. If not then I would think the clutch is operating fully and the synchros are worn and need replaced. But either way, with metalic fluid being in the slave cylinder dust boot, the slave cylinder needs changed.

I changed the slave cylinder on my clutch of my TATA 207 and now I cant get any gears, It is stuck in reverse gear. the gears where perfect befor I chnnged the clutch slave cylinder ??

Either the new slave cylinder is faulty or you need to bleed it. Sounds like you aren't getting enough clutch release to get the gears to change. You cant hurt the gears by doing anything to the outside components of the tranny.

I have a 2000 mazda 323 with a manual transmission. i have already change the clutch kit but the gear is still hard to shift

Check the hydraulic clutch operation. This is a clutch master cylinder with a reservoir on the firewall, and a clutch slave cylinder down on the bell housing of the transmission, with a steel tube running from the master to the slave cylinder. When clutch pedal is depressed, hydraulic fluid (brake fluid) is forced from the master to the slave. The slave cylinder should push out a little plunger that contacts the clutch fork lever-pushing it forward to engage the clutch.
Add brake fluid to the reservoir if needed. Watch the plunger on the slave cylinder: if it moves little, or not enough, try bleeding the slave from the bleeder valve. They are bled just like brakes. If bleeding doesn't help, your clutch master or the slave may need replacing. The master cylinder, like a brake master, has internal seals that hold hydraulic pressure, so force can be applied to the plunger on the slave cylinder.

Are you sure you installed clutch plate facing right way? They are either stamped or have a tag says "flywheel side". Or might have wrong clutch kit.

85 hilux 4x4 have no clutch when checking found fluid leaking from rubber boot at the arm pretruding from gear box how do you repair this? cheers roger

bad slave cylinder possible. may even be a bad clutch master cylinder.was leaking from firewall? not bad clutch mastercylinder. was leaking under car on passenger side at front of tranny, but in between motor and tranny where motor bolts to transmission? most likely, bad clutch slave cylinder. having to add brake fluid to clutch master cylinder? having to pump the clutch pedal up to shift gears? either you have a bad clutch slave cylinder[leaking under the car between motor and tranmission] or leaking on firewall [the wall that under dash and under the front window] you may even need a clutch replacement.3 if you need further assistment, repost your question to fixya.com

2001 Ford ranger edge. The gears won't change.

The trans will need to come out. While your at it, just replace the clutch assembly, rear main oil seal, resurface the flywheel, and the clutch master cyl. Its not really a job you should do, find a repair shop to handle it.
