I have used SeaFoam and it does what the label says it does. I haven't used Lucas.

So what exactly does the label say?

It says that it cleans the fuel system and injectors. I have poured it straight into a running engine and it has cleaned out lots of deposits. I own a diesel truck and I fill my fuel filter with SeaFoam when I change it. I wouldn't hesitate to add it to the fuel next time you fill up.

Cool thanks for the info I'm definitely gonna add that to my "arsenal of additives"

My volvo has sat up for hey year and a half and I put a new battery in it yesterday and crank it up and its own a little bit like the older all those it wasn't quiet like it normally he is so I'm wondering...

I would add a little Sea Foam product to oil and if you have 1/2 tank of fuel, add 1/2 can of Sea Foam to gas.
If your gas is old the Sea Foam should help.

Sea Foam: Great Way to Clean Your Engine For $10.00!

I'm always a skeptic of wonder products. The "too-good-to-be-true" products usually turn out to be just that..

Well recently, I wanted to try out one of these products. Its called, "Sea Foam." You probably haven't heard of it. None of my friends in the automotive industry hadn't either. And yet, when I went to my local AutoZone, there it was, sitting right there on the shelf in the fuel additives section..

The following is my actual reaction after using it: "HOLY ****! Its amazing!!"

Okay, so now that I have established that in my case it did in fact work, let me talk a little bit about how to use Sea Foam, and how it works.

SeaFoam is a cleaning additive which can be added to gasoline, ethanol, diesel, and oil (both synthetic and conventional.)

When added to gasoline It claims that it can clean dirty carburetors and fuel injectors.
When added to diesel it claims to eliminate water in the system and keep the fuel from gelling up.
When added to the crankcase (oil,) it eliminates sticky lifters, cleans rings, and PCV valves.

I purchased their non aerosol 16oz can. I put approx 6 oz into the oil and the remaining 10oz into the gas tank. The results were almost instantaneous upon starting the vehicle. (Which is a 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 4.0 L6, approx 170,000 miles on the ODO.)

The lifter ticking was gone. The idle was smoother. Even power seemed to be higher. This product really does work..

Please note: When running Sea Foam, be prepared for light to moderate to heavy amounts of white smoke pouring out of the tail pipe. This is normal, and will wear off as soon as all the Sea Foam has passed through the system.

Have you tried replacing the fuel filter? They're pretty cheap and easy to do and if they get clogged they can cause problems. If that doesn't work get a fuel pressure tester you can rent from parts stores like auto zone and you can test your fuel pump

Runs terrible, p1391 is the code, replaced computer, replaced distributor, replaced crank sensor 2 times, new wires and plugs, new timing chain set, great compression, tps, ais, map, all replaced....

since you've replaced all the expensive components 1st.i suggest you look towards clogged fuel injectors next.try some sea foam, add it to your fuel tank to clean the fuel injectors.your computer tells the injectors and the crank sensor tells them when to pulse. you may only have partially clogged fuel injectors or water in the fuel.the seafoam will dry up any moisture in your fuel tank and also unclog fuel injectors. lucas fuel injector cleaner is what i usually recommend, but your issue call for extreme cleaning. try the seafoam,it costs $7.99 per bottle and treats 25 gallons of fuel.follow the instructions on the bottle.but if you suspect alot of water in the fuel tank,i suggest clear rubbing alcohol !/2 bottle to your fuel tank will not hurt the engine, but will remove excess water from the gas tank. thank you,for choosing!

My 01 Mits Galant starts and stalls immediately. Then other times it starts and runs fine. Then back to start and stall. Replaced fuel pump, same thing. Any suggestions?

1. change the fuel filter.
2. buy a bottle of sea foam from your local auto parts store or lucas either one is the best. for bad fuel and water and trash.

1991 Honda Civic 1500 idles irregularly, with check engine light.

I think I would suspect the fuel injectors, especially since that is the code you are getting. Fuel injectors clog up, get dirty, stop working the way they should. They can be cleaned (you can remove them and send them to a company that cleans them and makes them like new, or, they can be cleaned in the car by some garages, or, you can get a can of Sea Foam spray and spray it into your throttle housing several times to try to do some cleaning that way, or, you can dump a can of Sea Foam (non-spray) into your gas tank and run it with the fuel through your injectors). You should probably check when you first start the car to see if you are getting any leakage from one or another injector (one or another may look moist or wet if the seals are leaking). You can also do the long screwdriver test (hold the bit of the screwdriver against each injector in turn and listen with your ear against the other end to see if each is clicking regularly). I would try the Sea Foam first.
I hope this is helpful in getting you started on a fix.

Car was not rnning for about a year and know when it is being run after 30min the car turns off

Try replacing the fuel filter and running fuel injector cleaner through the fuel system for the next 4 tank full. Gas that has been sitting for a long time and has oxidized turns in to varnish and the varnish may have gummed up the fuel lines, fuel injectors and fuel filter. Start with the simple and replace the fuel filter and run fuel injector cleaner through the fuel system. A product called Sea Foam is a good engine cleaner. Just fallow the instruction on the can for the engine and fuel system, please take note that there will be some smoke. The smoke is normal and will do no harm to the engine, just follow the instructions on the can and if you like, do a search on Youtube for Sea Foam and you'll see what i mean about smoke. Good luck and hope this helps.
