How to troubleshoot a no fuel problem, no fuel at fuel rail in a 2000 olds sillhouette.

First check there is battery voltage to the pump and the pump starts when the ignition is switched on , if not check fuse and relay, check wiring from relay to pump. If ok and the pump is working , check for fuel blockage from the tank inlet to the pump , some have a sock type filter in the tank pick up tube, if all ok remove the fuel filter , switch on and fuel should flow at the filter, fit a new filter, if still no fuel at the rail fit a fuel pressure gauge an check for low pressure , if ok, the fuel pressure regulator may be stuck causing a air lock replace it.

1997 subaru Impreza sport won't stay running . stalls after minute replaced Fuel pump, filter spark plugs wires ,cleaned injectors checked fuel pressure what next

check your grounds. I find many easy fixes by cleaning all the grounds around the engine bay. I would also check the ground at the fuel pump connector that wiring is prone to corrosion and breakage

How to install a 1995 e320 wagon fuel filter

First thing to do is to locate the fuel filter, most likely down near the tank.
Second thing to do if it is a fuel injected engine is to open the bonnet and find the main fuse box. Remove the Fuel pump relay, or fuse. This will prevent the fuel pump from working. Now start your engine and run it until it stalls out. Shut off the engine, go to the fuel filter and remove the clamps or spring clips attaching it to the fuel line.
Now take the filter off and replace it with a new one, make sure you snug up all the connections. Now go back to the front and replace that relay or fuse. Turn the key until the and wait until all the dash lights have gone out or stopped flashing. Wind over the engine until it catches and runs. Put the hand brake on and with the vehicle in neutral if a manual or in park if auto.
Check the filter for leaks if leaking turn it off and tighten the clamps, try not to refit old clamps or spring clips always try to fit new ones and new fuel hose if possible. Make sure if you fit new fuel hose you fit Fuel injection hose, not standard fuel hose. As the standard fuel hose will split due to the pressure.

Viola your done. Drive and check for abborations.

I have a 2001 Camaro V6 3.8L that stalled on the highway a few days ago. The car stalls almost instantly after starting, ive actually got it to run for about 20 secs a few times but still stalls. Plugs...

When you turn the ignition to on you should here the fuel pump run. If you aren't hearing it then it sure sounds like the pump. Assuming nothing has happened to the car to affect electrical connections. I don't think there is a fuse for the pump but worth checking also.

Intermitantly stalls

Check fuel filter, blow back through fuel lines to tank, check lines for blockage, leaks or cracks, drain and flush fuel tank.
Make sure air intake is free from leaks or blockage, filter is clean and correctly fitted
Check fuel pump connections, try to hear if pump operates by turning on ignition (without starting engine), pump should operate for a few seconds until pressurised then cut out, any longer indicates worn or leaking pump, lines or connectors, especially if done over 300000km.
Otherwise check earths from engine to chassis, also EMS fittings for corosion, or have unit tested.

Do you know where or if a 2000 Mazda 626 has a fuel pump cut off switch. According to the parts store it doesn't have a fuel pump relay. I have replaced the fuel pump and the car still won't crank. I am...

Hello, I am going to make a few assumptions here. The vehicle has an electric fuel pump and you replaced it. The vehicle has fuel injection. The engine is actually cranking, just not starting, when you say "car still won't crank". You are getting fire to the spark plugs at the plug ends. You checked the fuel pump for power at the pump. No power, then you back traced the wire to the fuse block and checked the fuse to see if it was blown. If the fuse is good back trace the power to the ignition switch and/or ECM for power. You have power at the pump, check the ground and make sure it is connected properly. Will the pump run when someone turns the key on? Pump runs, check fuel manifold for pressure. No pressure, check the fuel filter for blockage, or replace it. Fuel pump doesn't run, new replacement pump is defective. There is usually some type of control module for the fuel pump on fuel injected vehicles. Good Luck, RAC

Fixed it myself. I checked power and ground on fuel pump, then w/rubber mallet I banged the fuel tank and the fuel pump went on for a few seconds while someone cranked car, it started for arou 20 -30 seconds. This helped me diagn. the problem and I put in a new fuel assembly.\
