That light is set to come on at scheduled maintenance points or mileage, and even a bad abs sensor can set it off, look in the owners manual on how to reset it,it doesn't mean there's a problem with it though,i forget how its done but there's a procedure on resetting it,it may go off on it own also,so don't panic its not going to be an expensive thing to repair, read the owners manual real good on it ,it will explain why it came on,good luck with it.

2006 chevy impala traction control

Reduced power is a problem with electronic throttle contol . drive by wire . Do you know what this is ? Taking the vehicle an having it hooked up to diagnostic tool an checking for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes is always a first step when trying to find the root cause of any trouble light ! And not auto zone , pep boys , or advance auto parts . Thier diagnostic tool will not check codes in all system control modules .

2009 Impala won't start. First message "Service Battery Charging System" Then "Battery Saver Active" Now message reads "Service Traction Control."

turn on your car and remove the ground cable from the battery, if the car dies it's time for a new alternator, if not take your battery in to be checked. The other message(traction control) may be just due to a faulty battery/alternator.

My service abs and service traction control lights come on at the same time on my 2006 impala ss what does this typically mean?

There is a defective component in the system, generally is one of the four wheel speed sensors, have the system tested by any GM dealer to determine which one.

ALso, I suggest check this generic tips about ABS_Traction_Control_lights

Hope this helps (remember to rate and comment this answer).

The following lights keep coming on then turning off- service brake assist, abs and service traction contol.

These are WARNING lights! They are trying to warn you that there is a malfunction in your brake and traction control systems. The most common problem would be that one of your wheel speed sensors are not working properly. The only way to find out for sure is to access the computer system data and find out why it has been turning the lights on. (There will be fault codes stored in memory)
