New head changed; lot knoking noise on top of engine coming up, may be the time chain problem?

90psi compression is low in some cases engine may run but will be very weak and stall after a short time. a good petrol car compression should be between 120 to 150psi.
Does the engine oil light turn off after started, make sure u have oil pump up to the head, check the oil pick up inside the sum. The engine valves should not and never bend from no reason.

Knoke in motor @ high idle has no power. motor drags when try to crank warm

Would not be surprised you have found the answer before you read this.
Believe you have a bearing failed on your crankshaft. If it's a piston rod bearing, it won't be very long in your future before you find pieces of your lower engine block blown out and strewn on the ground. That's the worst case scenario. What makes the engine drag? Too much friction. But a warm engine should have less friction than a cold engine. Just the opposite in your case, and that's significant.. Have someone listen to the knock. Anyone who ever had that knock in their engine before the rod busted or the engine seized up will remember it. Good luck.

My EA81 engine wasnt starting but starter wasnt the problem. i looked up a few things & one said to try & turn the crankshaft. i did & lots of water came out the plug holes when i turned the...

when you get coolant coming out of the cylinders when you have removed the plugs and turned the motor over by hand then you have a head gasket leak or cracked cylinder heads or possibly a cracked engine block.the only fix is to either rebuild the engine if there is nothing seriously damaged like a block or heads or find a good used motor from the wreckers and have it put in.

push rods dont knock?? they are hollow rods that the lifters push up and pump oil thru to rocker arm that then pushes down on a valve and opens it if u bent the push rods or any other part of the head valve train most auto parts stores or on line parts sell them including dealer

White smokecoming out in the exhaust, wet sparkplug, i already replaced my valve, valveseals, and piston rings but still white smoke is coming out

check water level it may be water vapour from when you replaced the head gasket!
Or its a cracked head! or engine block
you should always have a crack test on heads & chaeck the flatness of thge head & engine block faces
I use a steel ruler & fealer guages to check any gaps

1997 pontiac grand am knoking topside, ajusted valves, replaced fuil filter, fuuil regulater, intake gasket, cleaned injecters, what eilths could it be?

If im correct i beleive those engines have hydraulic lifters in them. Thats probably whats making the noise. it's useless to replace them. It's not gonna affect your engines performance. just let it knock
