Question about Honda Odyssey

1 Answer

I am posting a section of another frustrated owner's suggestions on what to do to make Honda take responsibility. Please pass this along... Whether you contact your Honda dealer service department or not (and whether you bring it in for service or not), I and many other Odyssey owners STRONGLY recommend that you call or otherwise contact Honda's corporate Customer Service and let them know you are experiencing this problem and that you fully expect Honda to investigate and develop a fix to this design defect: American Honda Motor Co., Inc. Honda Automobile Customer Service Mail Stop 500-2N-7A 1919 Torrance Boulevard Torrance, California 90501-2746 Tel: (800) 999-1009 (press 7 to report a problem) In doing this you will get your problem on record (they will give you a "case number") and you will add to the growing list of customers who find the current corporate response by Honda to be unacceptable. Be sure to let them know that you view this as some kind of defect with the vehicle and I would also encourage you to also let them know how disappointed you are in the fact that Honda's quality / customer service reputation can no longer be trusted or held in such high regard. If you wish to go even further, tell the customer service representative that although you appreciate their taking the time to record your complaint and provide a case number, you wish to "elevate your customer service complaint" by having a regional customer service manager at American Honda contact you back to discuss the status of this complaint and what you expect American Honda to do about it. Remember, you paid a LOT of money for a brand new Honda Odyssey vehicle that should not be experiencing this kind of problem!

Tip

Critical Information Needed

For anyone and everyone that is about to, or has posted a repair question, here's my tip.

Include AS MUCH INFORMATION AS POSSIBLE.
Vehicle make
Vehicle year
Vehicle model
If engine related question then include the engine size, or at the very least, how many cylinders
If a transmission related question, then manual or automatic

The whole "my car don't start" or possibly "heater don't work" or transmission don't shift" WITHOUT THE PERTINENT INFORMATION WILL GET YOU NO, OR WRONG INFORMATION.

Every time I see a vague question asked it reminds me of one of the auto parts store I worked at.

It was a simple "Ma and Pa" operation and i was the only employee.

One day a guy walked in and said to the owner, "I need some spark plugs". The owner stood there for a few seconds, turned around and walked back to the shelf, grabbed a box of spark plugs and then he returned to the counter, sitting the box of spark plugs in front of the customer.

The guy asked "Are those the spark plugs I need?" The owner answered, "I don't know if you don't tell me what vehicle you need them for."

FINALLY the guy understood what the problem was. LACK OF INFORMATION.
He then told what he needed the plugs for and got the correct ones. Along with the proper recommended electrode gap.

Sure you can post a vague question, but you may not get a response. If you do, then don't be surprised if it's requesting more information. THEN you get to respond back with the needed info. THEN you MAY get an answer for the question.

When all along, with the proper information to begin with, the question could have been answered WITHOUT the back and forth exchange.

End of Tip (rant)

Horn not working

Check appropriate fuse isn't broken and from fuse work back along wire checking connections and insulation until you reach the horn. If you've not found a fault download user manual (for free). Ask advice at a Honda dealers or e-mail Honda directly.
Auto-electricians aren't cheap.
I'm not certain but I think youv'e gotta have working horn to pass MOT.
Good luck. Hope this helped.

Can I have the radio code for 4 Cylinder Honda Accord,2004 Model .I pulled the fuse which completely swithced the radio off from source. So I will need a code to put it back to work.

Check your owners manual in front and back and the radio section to see if it has been hand written in there by the dealer. IF not, record the VIN number and call the dealer, he will pass the information onto the manufacturer and they will give him the code. he will call you back at no charge. Please leave 4 thumbs up for this, as it is the only answer that can be given for this problem. Safe driving.

2000 honda accord with 111000 miles. About 3000 or 4000 miles ago I was starting to get excessive road noise coming from the back axle area. I thought tires, but with the new set on there, the noise is...

My thoughts exactly. Could also be an alignment issue (rear). It could be as simple as poorly balanced tires. Take it to a trusted mechanic. BTW: Just passed 125K on my EX.
